As the son of a Viking leader on the cusp of manhood, shy Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III faces a rite of passage: he must kill a dragon to prove his warrior mettle. But after downing a feared dragon, he realizes that he no longer wants to destroy it, and instead befriends the beast – which he names Toothless – much to the chagrin of his warrior father
This movie contains 33 potentially triggering events.
Stoick, is conservative and pushes Hiccup into a mold. When Hiccup refuses, Stoick disowns his son. He makes amends and learns to accept Hiccup by the end of the movie
One of the main characters follows another main character around to try to figure out what he's up to, trying to be sneaky about it. She does this several times. Not sure it qualifies as actual stalking though.
if you dislike seeing fish or other sea life like eels being eaten, then yes, there is a scene depicting a dead fish being beheaded and consumed and several scenes with dead eels
*mild spoilers* An antagonist dragon does die in a fire in this film, but they are a villian. A small dragon is seen being eaten whole by a large dragon. This movie mentions slaying dragons, but does not show dragons being intentionally slain (using swords, etc.)
Depends if you class a dragon as someone. The main characters companion who is a dragon as restrained towards the end of the movie, but is later released
A brief scene near the end which shows the main character and the dragon not being able to breathe whilst underwater, but the scene is brief and doesn't have any side effects except the character taking a second to catch his breath before joining into the action
A character is seen getting squished under a dragon but is heard saying “I’m okay” and after another squish says “less okay” it happens towards the end during the final fight. The character is fine and shown alive and well.
There’s a scene where boats disappear into the mist, and after a few seconds of silence there’s a flashing dragon shadow and a loud musical screech. In another scene, the head of a giant dragon pops out of a volcano to eat a smaller dragon whole.
no one vomits but toothless brings up a fish because he wants hiccup to eat it. he complies. this sounds horrendous i know but i promise its tackled in a much more comedic way than i've made it sound.
There are a few crude jokes “not seggs…” that happen during a fight scene early in the movie where the main character is about to be hit by a fireball in the arena. Other than that no.
There are several effects from the dragon's mouths that involve lighted effects, especially in dark/night backgrounds. I'm photosensitive and had to turn away from the beginning scene of the dragons attacking the village at ~3-5 min and then decided to stop watching because of further fighting with the dragons within the first third of the film.
Closest thing to one is two twins (one boy one girl) who are frequently mistaken for each other, with the boy frequently mistaken for being a girl. He doesn't wear a dress or anything, but he does have long hair that matches his sister.
There is a pair of fraternal twins and it's a running joke that people can't tell them apart. There is no misgendering of a trans person, though (as far as we know).
