A character while possessed tells other adults in the family that nothing is wrong and everything is fine, that the ghosts are gone - includes dismissing their valid concerns and experiences, and pressuring them to stop talking about it by using other family members potential fear as emotional leverage.
Maybe a supernatural entity in "the further" does; it's beaten hard and repeatedly with a large object, possibly over the head. We don't see the damage.
SPOILER: The demonic woman in the black veil is really a "man". It's unclear to me if she is a trans woman or a man who cross dresses but the main villain is one of these things.
The demon was born a boy and forced into dressing like a girl by the mother. Later on, this person goes onto kill woman and castrate themselves and of course, possess and attack a family in death.
I wouldnt say predatory but it has those undetones
A cis-gendered boy is forced into the identity and appearance of a girl by his mother, which creates a sense of dysmorphia. There is a scene where he tears off the long-haired wig his mother forced him to wear, rejecting that shape.
I'm sure many of the characters WILL have PTSD - but there is no obvious depiction of a character grappling with PTSD, seeking therapy, having flashbacks, etc..
for a second or two during the opening credits when a baby monitor is shown, and at about 16:45, 20:47-21:17, 36:17, 1:18:00. I might've missed some, there's a lot during the beginning
SPOILERS: I would not say there are man in a dress /jokes/, specifically, but a major part of the plot revolves around a boy/man having been forced by his mother to dress and behave like a girl as a child. This is compounded by the fact that he goes on to murder numerous women (while dressed like a woman) and tries to castrate himself later in life. It is not portrayed comedically, but it's probably worth noting for people watching this category.
