[1:19:00 - 1:19:35] A flashback shows an alternate timeline's use of animal experimentation, which includes using the still-living head of a pig as a computer.
The book describes biomechanical spiders "that look like they were bred for war." A horde of them are unleashed on a tench full of soldiers.
The creature that dispenses "soy sauce" (a drug that allows the user to see into alternate dimentions) looks like a spider crossed with a stag beetle.
[1:20:15 - 1:21:23] A parent and child are killed in a gorey animated sequence, with the aftermath being shown via live action/practical effects. [1:30:50 - 1:33:10] A man in denial of his own murder reveals he has kids.
The followers of Korrok are depicted mostly as topless women, as opposed to the naked elderly men of the book. (Amy's characterization is also basically reduced to "David's future girlfriend", though I wouldn't say she's sexually objectified.)
There is an excessive amount of blood and gore, the majority of which is unrealistic and mostly played as darkly comedic, but likely to cause distress nonetheless.
