Confucius' foster mom in "Spring Broken" is emotionally distant to the point of emotional abuse--she leaves an online comment about taking the whole family on a two-week trip while he's at school, and warns him not to get lost in the desert because no one will be around to care.
Candide Sampson only feeds Joan because it's legally required, but said food is a bagful of crickets so that the houseful of monitor lizards can partake.

Technically, all of the original clones are in their 30's, as they were cryogenically frozen as teens twenty years ago. However, their bodies and minds are those of teenagers. Most of the canonical relationships (Joan and JFK, Harriett and Confucius) pair similarly-aged clones (old with old and new with new), though one-time pair Sacagewea/George Washington Carver and short-lived couple Frida/Cleo break the pattern.

Sort of--in the stress episode, the kids imagine themselves literally drowning in stress, with their worries tied to their ankles and bogging them down. They don't die but do visably struggle.

Flip-flops. Harriett Tubman is one of the main clones and, at worst, gets a sprained ankle, meaning she's never died; meanwhile, Joan's black foster grandfather died in the 20-year timeskip between seasons, so before anyone else in this season.

Harriett (single) and JFK (Joan's boyfriend) kiss as part of a play in the musical episode, which stirs up some feelings between them. They kiss once in the next episode to be sure, but feel nothing--it's still treated as cheating by Joan.

In the musical episode, Scudworth accidentally cuts his leg, turning it into a blood fountain that sprays several nearby students.
In the first episode, Cleo can't believe she isn't the most popular girl in school anymore, and does several violent acts on herself to "snap out of it". One of which is breaking a pitcher over her head and getting bloody shards in her face.
In the same episode, Abe resolves his lack of popularity by allowing other students to pour hot sauce into a hand full of paper cuts.
