As of season 1 episode 10, the suicide is shown, but it isn't graphic. We only see someone falling out of frame. Still, look away during the security footage of George's arrest if you don't want to see it.
There's a fictional disease in the Silo just called "The Syndrome", and characters who have it are barred from having important jobs. They usually feel forced to hide their condition due to the stigma around it.
A major character has The Syndrome, and a lot of their arc focuses on trying to hide it. In episode 9, they discuss their experience in detail, including that they've gotten mad at other people with The Syndrome for trying to befriend them.
The experiences of this character, and people with The Syndrome in general, definitely parallel real-world experiences with ableism, including internalized ableism, but the portrayal isn't disrespectful.
Juliette's mom committed suicide, which made her feel abandoned.
She ended up running away from her dad afterwards, because she felt like he betrayed her, and he decides to let her go. He didn't really abandon her, it was more the other way around, but it still hurt their relationship.
The residents of the Silo are all being lied to on a regular basis. The worst is probably in episode 1, when Allison finds out that the doctors lied about her birth control implant being removed.
Flashbacks are shown to Juliette's brother, who had some kind of condition/birth defect that makes him have health issues. In at least one of these scenes, we see him struggling to breathe.
Not shown, but a character mentions that as a teenager, he hit somebody for trying to befriend him because they both have the Syndrome, and threatened to hit him again if he told anyone.
Objects from the past (stuff like cameras and PEZ dispensers) are illegal, and get confiscated to be destroyed. None of these are priceless artifacts to viewers, but in-universe, they are.
Only through to episode eight of season one, but the way the silo is set up it is extremely unlikely that a horse or agricultural animal (pet cat and a rabbit have been taken care of and retained lovingly thus far) at least through episode eight. Please update as season progresses.
A rabbit is cut open in order to undergo heart surgery. It is later shown alive and hidden away. At the end of the episode it is freed to wander the SILO’s corn fields.
This is the core plot. It is not shown only spoken of which builds the plot. After the first couple characters leave the silo (no spoilers) another character falls to his death, and builds the main plot of solving the “ murder” the main character does not believe it was suicide. yeah the mystery continues through season one as far as I can tell.
