The Commitments
Movie • 1991 • Comedy
ReportJimmy Rabbitte, just a tick out of school, gets a brilliant idea: to put a soul band together in Barrytown, his slum home in north Dublin. First he needs musicians and singers: things slowly start to click when he finds three fine-voiced females virtually in his back yard, a lead singer (Deco) at a wedding, and, responding to his ad, an aging trumpet player, Joey "The Lips" Fagan.

There is no child abuse. Just a lot of struggling and very poor people trying to get by.

The body, not the death is shown, and it is explained how the horse died. It’s being used as a dark comedic gag.

I’m not exactly sure where the yes is coming from. There are lots of people shown in the background raising various animals (pigeons, chickens, rabbits, etc) and perhaps the rabbit one is questionable but there is no outright triggering abuse of animals.

Jimmy in the bath. He’s giving pretend interviews. Nothing graphic, almost childlike.

Someone gets close to vomiting and gags a bit, but doesn’t actually vomit. But if you’re triggered by the mention of it or gagging then I’d skip the scene of their first gig backstage and the hospital scene.

Nothing graphic, no nudity. Kissing, gross and rude misogynistic comments, etc.
