Following With Fire and Sword', this is an adaptation of the second and most spectacular part of Sienkiewicz's trilogy of warfare, romance, and derring-do. With war raging across Europe in the 17th century, a dashing warrior fights for the heart of a young gentlewoman. With almost four hundred actors, thousands of extras and twenty three thousand costumes, this is one of the most popular films in Polish cineman and received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Feature.
I answered yes because there's a brief scene of a dog in peril during a fire in part 1 at 42:45-42:50. It can be easily skipped as it's very short. There are many other dogs shown throughout the movie and no harm comes their way.
The movie imdietally begins with showing the body of one. You can skip forward to 1:55 to avoid it, that being said the movie contains a lot of battles involving horses and the aftermaths of them so I wouldn't reccomend it to people with this trigger.
Pretty explicit and drawn out scenes of two characters being burned with a torch while tied up. Skip from around 59:00 until 1:03:40 in part 2. The only context you'll really miss is Kmicic is saved.
