Monsters under the bed are scary enough, but what happens when an entire house is out to get you? Three teens aim to find out when they go up against a decrepit neighboring home and unlock its frightening secrets.
This movie contains 32 potentially triggering events.
I'd argue no. Bones play-scares Zee and jumps on her, knocking them both to the floor and hurting Zee. Zee, who had been going in for a kiss, gets annoyed at his childishness and kicks him out. Her actions make sense and there's nothing to suggest it was more serious than that. Plus, sexual violence doesn't fit the tone of the film. I didn't even consider this when I watched the scene.
In a flashback scene, we see Constance fall into a hole and have cement fall onto her. If the fall didn't kill her, then cement burying her alive would have done it.
No, but the house taunts people by showing them the toys that the Mr. Nebbercracker has confiscated them in an attempt to lure them in. It’s not torture at all but the kids are upset by it.
In a flashback scene, we see Constance accidentally fall into a hole in the ground, and also has concrete poured onto her. It isn't however, graphic, and we don't see the exact moment of death.
At the end of the film, we see Constance's ghost after the house is destroyed, but it's not played for scares or horror, more as her spirit being set free.
No, but children are put in a police car, told they are under arrest, told they "have a right to shut up", and told they are going to jail. No handcuffs or incarceration happens, as they are then freed.
It's unclear if Constance is mentally ill. Nebbercrack speaks to her like she's a child and she has fits of rage and irrationally lashes out at children, both in life and afterwards. I got the impression that she had some form of learning difficulties.
Not "jokes," per se. A 600+ lb. woman is labeled as a "Giantess" in a circus setting and caged like a circus animal, and (SPOILER) is depicted first as an easily enraged, violent person and then as pretty much a psychotic would-be murderess.
The main boys objectify the main girl in the way they act and speak around her at some times, but sexually objectify is strong language for it given that they're preteens.
