After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts - the birthplace of the holiday. Picking off residents one by one, what begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister holiday plan.
Everyone’s death was a spectacle. Other women might feel differently, but as a woman I didn’t feel like women were given any particularly special treatment. The only thing that comes to mind is *SPOILERS* that the store owner’s wife is cooked like a turkey, and the killer tries to force the owner to eat a slice of her leg meat. So that’s sort of special treatment, but it didn’t strike me in the moment.
No, but it’s a little sad to think about how he saw his owner get killed and then the cat is left with the body in the apartment (though the cat seems more concerned with being happy he got dry food). It is told earlier a friend was going to come take care of the cat while the owner was out of town; this tells me someone will be there eventually to take care of the cat and he won’t be alone for long!
The killer feeds the cat food because the bowl was empty and then scritches the cats head. The cat purrs and eats his food. Unharmed the entire movie. And the owner even spoke on how someone was coming to visit and take care of the cat while he is out of town.
It is discussed at the beginning of the film that the football players of two opposing teams got into a brawl, and you can see the black eye aftermath of that. Some of the players involved in said brawl do bully other students later on, but never physically (it is suggested that they will beat them, but they never do.)
EXTREMELY graphic with a meat cleaver. I had to completely look away for about 20 seconds. There are other head squashes, but the one at the dinner table is horrific.
A woman is cooked alive and served on a table, and another person is drained of blood into a goblet. Cannibalism is suggested but never actually happens on screen
There is suggesting at the end of the film that someone couldn’t “survive a blast like that” the audience however does not see it. There is also a scene of a person burning in a human sized oven.
A girl is jumping on a trampoline and a knife is inserted into the trampoline from underneath. It suggests that her genital areas hit the knife when she fell back down from jumping
This is one of the gorier slashers I’ve watched. The FX are very well done and they do not shy away from showing you everything. Every single person who is killed is killed in a grotesque manner.
around 56:50 cuts straight to a guy outside a party and happens instantly but only last a couple seconds (audio & visiual)
around 1:21:40 after the killer unveils the “turkey” (audio and visual) it is also on his chin for the rest of the time he is shown
Not explicitly, but there's a couple scenes that imply it. I'd consider the end where MC has a nightmare of being murdered by the killer a sign of PTSD.
The “turkey buttering” scene could be seen as suggestive depending on how you look at it, but it was never outright mentioned. The girl on the trampoline wanted to do “semi-naked cheerleading” for her boyfriend, and as far as we can tell the killer didn’t stick around to gawk at the show.
Yes. A cheerleader gets on a trampoline and does a strip tease for her boyfriend. You can see her butt as she starts to get out of her outfit. There is no explicit sex but she is being intentionally sexual (consensually) for her boyfriend.
*Spoilers* The killer stabs a knife through the trampoline, stabbing her while she wears only a skirt and no underwear, which can be quite disturbing to see.
