[SPOILER] Flowey makes a copy of a woman (who he murdered earlier) and then destroys said copy in a disturbing fashion, both for his own amusement and to taunt Clover.
Well... a child is endangered and trudges through war, but they're not abused outright.
(SPOILERS)
The only part you could argue IS abuse is enacted by another child when you think about it, so...
There's a conversation played for laugh on if horses (who the monsters believe are fellow monsters) die when a cowboy rides them into sunsets in movies. You have the choice to refute or confirm this, but realistically the player knows the horse is unharmed since the sun is so far away.
Kind off.
There is some missable backstory that implies that one of the human children had their head blown off. This is never shown on screen
Also One of the later bosses on the genocide route, while not exactly decapitated. does suffer a fairly gruesome death, despite being a robot, by having their head lasered in half.
A robot has its head blasted apart by a laser, which is depicted in a way that is fairly disturbing despite them being a robot. A rare easter egg heavily implies that this robot graphically blasted the head off of a human in the past, but this event is not shown.
There are only three significant child characters and none of them are sexualized in the slightest. Clover can't even "flirt" with monsters like Frisk could.
Sort of? A character injects themself with a fantastical substance that results in their graphic death, but it's not because of any sort of addiction and it certainly wasn't supposed to be recreational.
The equivalent of police, the Royal Guard, are depicted in a neutral light at best. One of the main characters quits being a royal guard in the game's best ending.
Nobody gets trapped in a claustrophobic area, but it didn't stop me from getting scared of disaster every single time I used an elevator in game. Thankfully, nothing went wrong in the elevators!
Not unless you count the fantasy equivalent of "humans vs monsters." Nothing that really comes up in real life, but the war between humans and monsters is treated very, very seriously and very tragically.
There is one part of the game that shows one of the main character's house, and it seems abandoned. It is never stated where they live. In the end credits they refurbish one
One pacifist ending is extremely sad while the other is bittersweet and hopeful.
The neutral and genocide endings are more disturbing than anything, but I would describe both as sad.
Even if the protagonist never shoots anyone, another character will try to shoot them to death during a boss fight. Both characters seemingly use revolvers.
