**spoiler** at the end of the movie, anora has sex with the man that assaulted her earlier in the film. He (and maybe the director) insists that it wasn’t assault.

Sorta, but not in a typical sense. Vanya's family has had people keeping tabs on him and watching his home.

Throughout the movie a woman is often expressing disgust and saying no to various things, only to be “convinced” and do the things she didn’t want to do. It doesn’t paint her with much agency, because all of the men eventually overpower her (even if they “meant well”). There’s also a long sequence of her being bound and gagged against her will that seems to be played for laughs.

Not really, but one of the strippers talks about how a client mentioned she looked like his daughter, then paid for a lapdance. It's played for laughs but has kinda gross implications.

In two different scenes throughout the movie, one at the beginning the character says “what is she yelling? Rape?”
At the end the character has a conversation where the main character says the other would have raped her if he had the chance, to which the guy replies that he would not have.

Anora is held down and tied by Igor while she screams and tries to fight him off. This is because they’re trying to hold her hostage. There is a portion where his crotch is pressed against her butt, but none of his advances are sexual in nature nor are they portrayed to be. He’s actually very hesitant about the whole encounter. Could still be upsetting for some viewers.
In the ending of the film Igor does try to kiss her while they’re having sex to which she pulls away from and starts to break down. This sex is initiated by Anora and it’s not implied to be a non-consensual encounter.

the scene is rough
The scene happens roughly 1hour 26min into the movie. It happens shortly after Toros car gets towed, they are in a restaurant asking people if they have seen Ivan, it then cuts back to all of them in the car and Garnick looks visually unwell. He then v* and there's audio and visual (audio is not bad, visual is bad though). After he v* it cuts to the next scene where Toros is cleaning the car and you still see the v*. When the scene cuts back to all of them in the car covering their noses, it's visually safe, but they do complain about how bad it smells in the car. All of this lasts about 90s from beginning of the incident to the end of said incident. There's a moment when Ivan complains his stomach hurts and the judge says, "get him out of here before he v* in my courtroom" but nothing happens.

Most of Sean Baker's films are shot with a handheld camera, and Anora is no exception. There are many shakey shots, although they are not so severe.

There is a kitchen scene where a Russian calls other Russians the n word under his breath. It’s not super clear but the subtitles show the slang n word, not the hard r n word. It’s still blatantly said as a slur though.

During a beach scene kids make fun of a plus size woman going in the water. There’s literally nothing funny about what she is doing so it can be insinuating they are being jerk rich kids making fun of her for her size while she is vulnerable in a swimsuit.
