There are at least 5 different scenes throughout the movie that show graphic depictions of domestic violence. This movie does not seem to be a PG-13 movie, it should be rated R for how detailed these scenes are and how triggering they could be for some viewers.

In one of Lily’s flashbacks, Atlas gets beaten to a bloody pulp by her father and has to be rushed to the hospital. It happens during the flashback where teen Lily and teen Atlas undress in her bedroom.

The SA scene could be potentially really triggering to someone who may have experienced similar situations before. It is extremely graphic, and shows the main character struggling to move as her arms are pinned down while her husband ignores her screaming 'stop' and bites down on her neck. It is an extremely vivid and horrific scene and goes on for a particularly long period of time for those who have experienced similar situations to endure. Her neck is later shown (in the hospital) to have 6 bite mark dots on her left collarbone.

Ryle attempts to rape Lily. He doesn’t succeed, but the attempt is very disturbing and could very likely unsettle victims in the audience. It happens when Ryle asks her to read a section in a magazine out loud while they’re in the kitchen.
