A taxi driver gets more than he bargained for when he picks up two teen runaways. Not only does the pair possess supernatural powers, but they're also trying desperately to escape people who have made them their targets.
This movie contains 6 potentially triggering events.
Junkyard is unharmed! At one point he bites the arm of a man who is pointing a gun at the kids and the man drops his gun, but Junkyard then runs away and wasn’t ever in danger.
The kids are alone on Earth but they weren’t willingly abandoned by their parents. Their parents are jailed on their home planet so the kids are on a mission to free them.
The aliens are stalked by an assassin who is trained to pursue it’s target at any cost, so the assassin stalks the kids relentlessly throughout the movie.
Not exactly but themes of government cover ups and conspiracies are heavily featured and there is the typical “no one would believe you” and “you’re crazy” narrative that could be triggering if you’re sensitive to that kind of language, etc. It most likely won’t be an issue but I just thought I’d mention it.
There are alien pod-type things that appear to be alive and they are blown up and burned by the alien assassin. There are sound effects that imply the pods are in pain and this could be distressing. I don’t like this scene because of this. It’s unclear what species they are and they’re not really confirmed to be sentient or anything but it’s still upsetting to think about them being burned alive.
Not a person or animal per se, but there are alien pod-looking things that are blown up and burned and they make sounds that sound like they’re in pain/distress. It’s kind of up to interpretation whether or not these things are alive but this seemed worth noting.
Jack slams the head of a man on the hood of his car and the man is later seen with tape over his nose but it’s never mentioned that his nose was broken or anything.
An alien creature (it's not clear if it's really sentient) falls a short distance into the spaceship power source, but it's the power source that kills it, not the fall.
The kids are shot with tranquilizer darts which aren’t exactly needles but it’s close enough I think. The kids also are shown unconscious and restrained with cannulas, etc but there are no close ups of needles or IV sites or anything.
There is a scene with explosions that are brightly colored and sporadic. I’d say this scene is similar enough to flashing lights that it could be potentially triggering. There is also a scene where the assassin is thrown into a sign made of light panels which causes sparks to fly and the light to flicker but this is only shown briefly.
there is a scene where the antagonists are pointing guns at the protagonists. but the aliens create kind of a forcefield around them to fight off the bullets.
