a character is separated from their parents due to their (very temporary) deaths from the previous film, however they then find their parents and use an amulet to bring them back (no human corpse is show for these characters since they are in the bodies of dolls) and then they immediately form a familial connection once the parents realise this is their child, having never met their child before, it does however take them a moment to realise

A sentient child doll is treated very badly by three people. By its owner, who exploits the child/doll in his ventriloquism act: Psychological torture, scolding and cruel demands - done out of malice and selfishness. By its parents: Not sexually or physically, but psychologically/emotionally - they argue in front of the child about which gender their child is or should be and both try to force a gender onto the child, and they let the child see them killing people, both telling the child not to tell the other parent. The father openly tries to make the child a killer like himself, so they can share the joy of killing. You could argue, at least in the mother's case, that the abuse is not really intended to cause harm, but is rather the result of a lack of insight, attention and reflection. The mother does seem to want what's best for her child, and to be doing her best to give it to him/her. Two cases in point. She soon accepts the child's actual gender identity fully and lovingly, and she makes a serious effort to fight her addiction to killing people, because the child doesn't want her to kill.

A rat is placed inside a cage with Glen as an intended target for honing their killer instinct. It becomes apparent that Glen has no killer instinct, however, and the rat is petted instead of harmed.

I don't know, really... There's a person (soul) who yearns to inhabit a human body instead of a doll's, but I think that has to do with the possibilities that humans have, and dolls don't. ... There's a child doll who's confused about his/her gender, but that doesn't seem to have much - if anything - to do with their body. ... At one point, someone screams in shock and yells to someone "I'M FAT!" Though she uses that word, what's actually the scary thing is that she's just woken up with a late-stage-pregnancy belly, when she should in fact not even be showing yet.

If you have tokophobia to any degree please do not watch this movie, the plot revolves around Chucky and Tiffany forcibly impregnating a woman so she can give birth to babies their doll child can transfer his soul into. This includes scenes of rapid pregnancy and childbirth.

A child (doll) has a gender identity crisis, either because of or exacerbated by his parents' continual arguing about whether he/she is a boy or a girl. The mother calls the child Glenda and dresses her/him as a girl, while the father insists that the kid is a boy and treats him/her as such, calling him/her Glen etc. To find out their child's gender in the first place, the parents pull down the kid's pants to check the genitals, as if genitals are automatically what decide a person's gender. (The child, being a doll, has no genitals, which is interpreted by the mother as a him/her being a girl.) ----SPOILER --- SPOILER ----- SPOILER ----- In the end, after some degree of internal conflict or at least confusion, the kid realises that he/she is both a girl and a boy, and the two identities actually separate and go into each their own body, the female one being evil and the male one good .
