The team behind Scary Movie takes on the comic book genre in this tale of Rick Riker, a nerdy teen imbued with superpowers by a radioactive dragonfly. And because every hero needs a nemesis, enter Lou Landers, aka the villainously goofy Hourglass.
This movie contains 22 potentially triggering events.
One of the first things that happens when the main character gets his powers from being bitten by a dragonfly is that he runs into the street and pushes an old lady and her Pomeranian out of the way of a large truck that is barreling down the street without brakes. He pushes the old lady into a wood chipper, and the Pomeranian is still attached to the leash she is holding, and it is slowly pulled upwards into the wood chipper opening. It doesn't show anything directly, but it does show the Pomeranian being slowly pulled up towards the mouth of the wood chipper, you hear a yelp, and then fluffs of dog hair are floating by moments later.
a few throughout the movie, obviously fake and played for comedic effect - a bird catches fire near the beginning, and later a dog is pulled into a wood chipper
the protagonist has no pets (besides fish), but both dogs and cats are killed in the movie.
It is not clear if the fish are killed or not, as we only see them when the protagonist pukes in the aquarium.
the protagonist breaks a mugger's arm - we see the arm move suddenly to an unnatural looking angle but the visuals aren't too graphic. we hear the crunch/snap quite loudly though
10:25, “Don’t forget to feed the fish.” Visual and audio.
42:22, there’s a gag with the camera spinning. Main villain bends over a trash can and gets sick. Audio only.
