Pursued by formidable Chinese assassins, young Kotaro and his dog run into No Name, a mysterious stranger who gets pulled into the chase. The unlikely companions form a bond over saving the dog from a poison attack, but chaos erupts when the assassins find Kotaro, and No Name must face his past before a horrible fate is met again.

The main plot revolves around an immortality drug. While a character is tortured, they're taunted with the drug they were using, which comes in the form of a pill.
Horses die in the first battle of the movie. There's a shot of their bodies laying on the ground in the same scene as well. Horses are harmed and killed through out the movie.
A close up of an arrow shooting through someones head happens, which pins their head to the all behind them, although the head remains intact. Afterwards, another person's head is shot by an arrow, we see the blood spray for a second, and it's bloodier than the first shot. They aren't squashed but it does involve violent head trauma which may trigger some people.
A character struggles to breathe because of a chest wound and coughs up blood. They do not survive because of the wound/blood loss, though the coughing and breathing may be upsetting.
The main character, the swordsman traveling with Kotaro, has occasional nightmares and flashbacks. It's not named as PTSD and can be interpreted as being caused by guilt.
