Sumala
Movie • 2024
ReportUnbeknownst to her husband Soedjiman, Sulastri made a pact with the devil so that she could have children. She gave birth to twins, Kumala, who survived, and Sumala, who died. Kumala grew up to be a kind child, but she was also physically and mentally disabled. She often received bad treatment from the people around her. One day, Sumala came from the world of the dead and made a reckoning with those who had hurt Kumala.

Multiple times, yes. The majority are children. If you can’t stand children being murdered (by another, possessed child), steer clear of this one. Very graphic.

There is a shot where parents find the decapitated bodies of 4 children, then we see all four heads have been skewered on one sharp spike, stacked on top of each other.

Plenty of it, and not done in surgery.

Yes, at least seven by my count are gruesomely murdered onscreen. I would NEVER recommend this movie to anyone upset by children being harmed.
In this horrifying film, the child body count even goes beyond the opening scene of TERRIFIER 3 and the bomb scene later. (That extremely gory movie begins on the night before Christmas Eve, we hear the sickening sounds of Art chopping up a sleeping boy with an axe, then shortly after his poor mother checks on him and he is chopped into pieces with body parts, including his head, strewn all over the room.)
In this movie, we see a demonic little girl mutilating them or stabbing them with some sharp metal farming tools that look like hooks or machete. This includes eye mutilation, throats and chests ripped open, and a newborn baby killed by a parent because it was “deformed”. Honestly, the baby might have been already dying, I need to re-watch to verify, but he does it with a skewer of some kind.
After all that, I should say, if this movie was released in US theaters, it would NEVER get an R-rating unless they cut out certain scenes. It would be unrated (like the Terrifier movies).

If this was released in US, it would be too gory for an R-rating and would be “Unrated” for the amount of gore, especially involving children.
