The Last Unicorn
Movie • 1982 • Adventure
ReportFrom a riddle-speaking butterfly, a unicorn learns that she is supposedly the last of her kind, all the others having been herded away by the Red Bull. The unicorn sets out to discover the truth behind the butterfly's words. She is eventually joined on her quest by Schmendrick, a second-rate magician, and Molly Grue, a now middle-aged woman who dreamed all her life of seeing a unicorn. Their journey leads them far from home, all the way to the castle of King Haggard.

A tree makes very unwanted romantic advances on schmendric, to the point of being jealous of the unicorn. It's played to be funny, i think, though schmendric is bound, uncomfortable, and clearly not happy with the situation.

Technically, there is. Lir is about twenty or so, and the Unicorn is several centuries old. "Amalthea" looks to be Lir's age, though, and there's none of the power imbalance this trope could imply.

Not in the usual ways, and not as bad as it could be. However, the "titty tree" as my friend group dubbed her was alarming. This is a tree with huge breasts that a main character is held against, and it made all watching very uncomfortable. There's a less sexualized instance of breasts on the harpy, who has three of them. This isn't pointed out by anyone, and several friends didn't notice. When a character is naked (for magical reasons) nobody oogles her, etc, and there aren't any weirdly angled shots.

One of the main characters is tied to a tree. The tree comes to life via magic and grows huge bo0bs and the person tied to the tree is kind of squished against them while the tree declares her undying love for him and rubs him. It’s weirdly sexual and definitely made me uncomfortable as a kid.
