The circle of life continues for Simba, now fully grown and in his rightful place as the king of Pride Rock. Simba and Nala have given birth to a daughter, Kiara who's as rebellious as her father was. But Kiara drives her parents to distraction when she catches the eye of Kovu, the son of the evil lioness, Zira. Will Kovu steal Kiara's heart?
This movie contains 29 potentially triggering events.
Zira is very obviously an abusive parent and her children are attached/obedient to her (until the ending) due to her abuse, but none of them seem to forgive her for it.
The Outlands pride can be a bit rough with each other, but in particular, the main antagonist strikes the male lead (her son) across the face with her claws out, leaving a gash over his left eye that exactly matches Scar's signature scar.
Gaslighting involves manipulation someone to cause them to question their own sanity. The primary antagonist is clearly unhinged and the Outlands pride generally serve as her pawns and are victims to deception, but no one is gaslighted.
The main antagonist raises the male lead with the sole intention of training and preparing him to act as an instrument of revenge. When he meets another cub, he is unaware of how to play tag. When he meets other characters as a young adult, he appears to be unaware of what it means to have fun. He appears consistently surprised when treated with kindness or affection. The antagonist's other cubs seem to have suffered some neglect and one of them is killed in a desperate attempt to win her approval.
a few lions die, and i think there are some hunting related things mentioned that technically count as talking about this but not rlly since its a normal animal thing - example: one of the lions mentions hunting some mice
He doesn't die from it, or even seem to have any negative effects, but Nuka (a secondary character) is scorched on the rear, and gets blasted in the face by fire.
A character who is trying to climb a wall of logs and dead wood loses his footing and is then completely buried and presumably crushed by the shifting material. The other characters have to dig him out. He has a couple lines of dialogue before dying (injuries not shown).
The main antagonist falls in a very similar fashion to Mufasa in the first film, but she falls into a turbulent river. A shot of one paw reaching up out of the water indicates that the fall, itself, does not kill her and that she drowns. Use your discretion.
One character slashes at another's face with her claws. The resulting injury matches Scar's scar from the first movie. The eye is not damaged. It is not gory.
Debatable. The main antagonist falls to her death at the end. In early versions of the movie, she allowed herself to fall. In the final release, she looks like she's trying to get back up, but she is still animated smiling as she falls to her death. It still looks intentional in my opinion so use discretion.
One major character had a deleted scene where they would refuse to be helped up, letting themself fall and die - but it doesnt happen in the final version - though the dying character does smile in the final version whilst falling to their death but it doesnt imply anything
Why the hell did someone say yes? No. There is no misgendering on purpose or on accident, unless u count when Simba’s baby was announced and iirc Timon and Pumbaa mistake it for a boy before being corrected. Not in a harmful way at all.
There's a scene in which Timon has Pumbaa in a hold and is hollering at him, "Say it!" In response, Pumbaa is conceding, "Fat! Fat, fat, fat!" This is very quick; I would not have noticed had I not been watching with subtitles.
