The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps, who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true identity.
This movie contains 41 potentially triggering events.
in one scene the main character is seen looking into the mirror after shaving his face and holding a blade to his neck but it doesn’t show him actually shaving or cutting himself
So many kids die in this movie. Some deaths are shown, some aren’t. They all re-appear in dead ghost form later. Don’t watch if you’re uncomfortable with seeing kids kill themselves violently/seeing them dead afterwards.
The main character Arthur runs Infront of a moving train to save his son,it ends in both their deaths but it is not show but we see the faces of the witnesses of the deaths at a train station
There are several ghosts in the film. The WiB shows up in nearly every scene, although she just looks like a woman in a funeral gown until you get close. Nathaniel Drablow, who was a child who drowned in a bog, returns covered head to toe in black mud. The WiB also has a family" of dusty ghost kids following her around.
Plenty of them unfortunately. If you don't like to be ingulfed in silence just for it to be broken by an upset orchastra and a scary character or object moving then this isnt the movie for you.
It depends your take on it, all the children kill themselves but they do so at the hands of the WIB but to everyone else it looks as if they have killed themselves
The ending is more frustrating. The "the menace is not gone" trope which is used in horror movies is a bit overdone. But I guess strictly speaking it can be viewed as happy (family reunion).
A child coughs up blood after poisoning herself. A woman dies in childbirth and is shown afterward with blood on her. Those are the only two bloody scenes, the rest is all suspense/supernatural horror.
