A stranger arrives in a little village and soon after a mysterious sickness starts spreading. A policeman is drawn into the incident and is forced to solve the mystery in order to save his daughter.
This movie contains 66 potentially triggering events.
A deer is seen gutted, a dog is murdered and seen being eaten by birds, a gutted goat is hung from a doorway, a pig is seen dead on a table in the foreground, chickens are tied up upside down for a ritual. There might be more, I don't fully remember.
There is a scene where a man is driving his car running away and a storm of moths begins to pelt his windshield, it’s revealed to be imaginary. This is a little after the 2 hour mark
No, but the father lifts up his daughter’s dress while she’s sleeping to check on a rash. When she wakes up during this, comments about what the situation looks like are made.
a side character is sexually assaulted by a foreign man the characters suspect to be involved in the mysterious deaths. It shows the lead up to the sexual assault (he pushes her down on the ground and calls her a dirty slut) but it cuts to a different scene before it happens.
Police not presented favorably in my opinion. They do very unethical things like looking up a patient’s medical records and searching homes without warrants
There's a rather disturbing scene where a patient in a hospital begins to spasm violently, breaks their collar bone, and vomits blood before finally dying. There are a few other scenes that also take place in the hospital, but not so gruesome.
I'm not sure why people have said yes, Body Dysmorphia is a mental health condition where a person spends a lot of time worrying about flaws in their appearance. which does not happen in this film.
after the stabbing scene, there's a scene with a ritual being performed on the stabber. it has a sudden cut to the ritual already in progress, which is very loud with lots of drums and screaming. afterwards when they start the second ritual, there are quite a few cuts between a quiet scene of a man in a house and a loud scene (the ritual)
there are a few scenes where there is not explicit but more implied nudity. Such as in the beginning there is a naked woman standing outside the police department at night. some depictions of men in loin cloth style clothing, you can see their butt cheeks but nothing else really. there is one scene where a shaman undresses and is wearing a loin cloth and you can almost see his genitals however the camera changes to a close up of his butt cheek slightly cut off the screen.
No, but there is a scene where a father lifts up his daughters skirt while she is sleeping. His motivations are not sexual at all, he’s worried about her and is checking for a rash. But the daughter, who is in the beginning stages of possession at this point, sorta implies incestuous intent when she wakes up and catches him.
Not exactly, the mc is on the phone while driving and almost gets hit by a semi, they then swerve and briefly lose control and a man falls from the cliff above onto the hood of the car and he swerves again but regains control of the vehicle before stopping. it happens at 1:52:00-ish
