During Chapter 9 if Mike befriended the wolf earlier in the game he will be there to help out when wandering the Sanitarium, however, if you don't make the right choices the White Wolf will have a showdown with a Wendigo and die. leaving everyone sad.
No but a woman treats her boyfriend like shit, and there are options to make really shitty choices against certain people who are in relationships i.e letting one die, coercing into sex
I’d say no. In the prologue, a character who may be a minor is tricked and bullied by her friends. That’s the closest things come. The rest of the characters are young adults who can be murdered and/or tortured (depending on the player’s choices) but not abused in the traditional sense
On PS4: The black wolf dies no matter what. Very sad moment when the white wolf sees his poor brother dead - in chapter 9. The white wolf may live depending on your choices.
The whole game is based on choice so no two games are the same
if you say in your interview with Dr. Hill that you are afraid of spiders there will be spiders in the game. (the worst one for me was when two characters walk into a room and a huge spider walks across the screen VERY slowly)
If you choose to reveal to Emily that she's not gonna get turned into a Wendigo from being bitten by one, she gets mad at Ashley for almost making Mike shoot her and slaps her. Hard.
Spoilers!! If you make the wrong choices, a character can have his head ripped off, plus an unavoidable clip of a guy's head rolling off (you don't see it get sliced), and I think some other deaths
A man can be killed by being put on a hook but a monster. When the hill kiss put through his neck (coming out his mouth) it hits his tooth and it comes out. It isn't very Gorey and you actually have to pay attention to see it.
One character is schizophrenic and mentally unstable, having hallucinations and freaking out. Dr. Hill, who is assumed to be in his head, mentally tortures who you find out to be him halfway through the game. It can be pretty frightening to see him like this
One character falls from a mountain into a cave system to her death, while her sister is injured and trapped in a cave. Later, another character can be pushed off a mountain by deer.
A character is forced to choose between shooting themselves or a friend. The other character will offer to be the one being shot, but no matter how the player chooses, there are only blanks in the gun, so in the end neither actually sacrifices themselves.
The answer is YES. The Wendigo SPIRIT is what turns people into a Wendigo. They are possessed by the spirit when they turn to cannibalism (or perhaps TO turn them to cannibalism). If these wendigo’s are killed the SPIRIT is released. So yes these people are possessed
No but there are chairs not dissimilar to electric chairs, so I certainly wouldn’t put it past anyone in sanatorium to have used electro therapy against the men who were turning into wendigo’s
Josh, a main character, has multiple mental illnesses, things like therapy/medication mentions/evaluations/and the like can be found throughout the game, and we see hallucinations from the perspective of Josh
Yes, the main character is mentally ill, treated like shit by his friends, and sets up traps in order to get them back for causing the death of his sisters. He puts them in danger, punches one of them etc. He’s also the only character who can not survive (as a person). He either dies violently, or gets left down in the caves to starve and become a wendigo.
A character is forced into a situation where he must choose to either shoot himself in the head or shoot his friend, or both of them will die. It is then revealed the gun was filled with blanks however, so he does not actually die from 'shooting' himself.
Josh is a character that suffers from schizophrenia and during a part of the game we see his hallucinations from his point of view, often reality is altered or questioned in the game
Body dysmorphia is not the same thing as body horror. This seems to be a common misunderstanding on this site - body dysmorphia is a mental illness that relates to your perception of your own body and an intense fixation on imagined or lesser flaws, such as a warped view of your weight. Rest assured, there is nothing like this in the game.
the most obvious example is that a male character tells another male character he wants to "rip that parka..." off of a female character "...and make some snow angels". he also talks to a male about a different female, saying "she's so soft, and she's probably got, like, a really tight bod".
Your mileage may vary. There's a lot of talk about having s*x though (depending on your choices) generally doesn't make it farther than making out in their underwear.
Man can possibly be forced to cut his fingers off, people are shown dying in an explosion, man is seen being sawed in half. [Spoilers] (he was pretending but you don't know that at the time)
