An adaptation of the original five volume arc of the popular JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga, covering the Phantom Blood chapters. Jonathan Joestar is an aristocratic boy whose life is suddenly turned upside down by a mysterious new boy who arrives, Dio Brando. Dio has a connection to his father, and over time, a rivalry forms as Dio becomes obsessed with a mysterious, ancient, and mystical stone mask that Jonathan's father keeps.
This tv show contains 95 potentially triggering events.
For the most part, the series is pretty good with showing men crying seriously, and without shame. However, in Golden Wind, Pesci is reprimanded and ridiculed for crying and becoming visibly upset, and told to stop being a mama's boy.
Through the first two episodes, Dio Brando abuses his step-brother, Jonathon Joestar by destroying his relationships.
Their father does not believe Jonathon when he brings it up, and in fact blames Jonathon for making trouble when he confronts Dio about it.
This culminates in Dio poisoning their father under the guise of bringing him medicine, which Jonathon is finally able to prove.
In part 1, Jonathan gets scolded and sent to bed without dinner by his father, as well as some neglect and some period-typical physical punishment such as getting smacked on his fingers. Dio's father abused his son as well. Part 2 has a racist attack against a black teenager. In part 4, the teenage protagonist Josuke gets kicked by his mother and has a gun pointed at him by his grandfather, but it's played for laughs and not implied to be abusive. A young boy also is implied to have grown up neglected and gets killed by a man impersonating his father, though he is brought back later. Two teenage characters also were physically abused by their father in their childhood. Part 5 has the protagonist abused as a child by his stepfather, as well as neglected by his mother. A father wants to kill his teenage daughter. Part 7 has the protagonist neglected by his father as a child/young teen after his brother died. Part 8 has a young boy who is forced to crossf
A big part of Part 5 is that the Italian mafia sells drugs, including to children, which plays a large role in a character’s backstory. Dio and his father are alcoholics. Many characters, including a monkey, a 50 year old woman who looks twenty, Italians, and a seventeen year old boy are chainsmokers.
Early in Part 1 Dio succumbs to his old habits and drunkenly stumbles through the streets of London while berating himself for picking it up from his father.
What the other guy said, but a correction, Ariki has said in an interview that he loves dogs and believes that one of the best ways to stow that someone is a villain is to have them kill a dog.
A cat gets killed at the end of part 3. Another gets stabbed and crushed to death in part 4, but it gets reborn as a cat/plant hybrid that behaves like a cat and does not get killed.
In Part 3 the main characters use a fly in a picture to figure out where the villain is hiding. Later in the part a character is shown eating beetles off of a tree.
In part 3, a little girl is almost sexually assaulted by an orangutan while she is showering, In part 5, a 13 year old boy is sexually assaulted by his college professor, though it is not shown on screen. In part 7, a 14 year old girl is almost sexually assaulted twice
if amputation is a sensitive subject for you, please don't watch this series.
part 1: the main villain has his head separated from his body, but he does not die. he also has his body split open. a deuteragonist is cut in half through the torso and killed.
part 2: the main character of the part, joseph, loses his hand in the finale. another character, stroheim, has his leg amputated, and appears later with prosthetic parts replacing a lot of his body.
part 3: one of the later protagonists, a dog, loses a leg in battle, and another human protagonist loses several fingers. one character is presumed to be killed when attacked by a stand, and only his severed hands remain.
part 4: the main villain has a fetish for hands, and keeps the hands of his victims.
part 5: many arc-relevant cases of amputation, including the protagonist and many antagonists throughout.
In the first episode of Golden Wind Giorno uses one of his abilities to send the damage from an attack back to his attacker, Leaky Eye Luca. This causes the back of his head to cave in with an imprint of the shovel he was attacking Giorno with.
Technically, I'd say there was one character in Part 4 who might've had musicogenic seizures caused by sirens but he's an extremely mysterious character who may or may not be an alien.
In Episode 2 of Golden Wind Bruno Buccellati gets his tooth knocked out. In a later episode, Narancia Ghirga's tooth falls out after an enemy's ability causes him to age rapidly.
In Part 5: Golden Wind, after he is defeated Mista puts a fishing hook through someone's eye, hangs them up by their eye and put glasses on them so that their eye is being burned. All the while he is screaming though they are muffled.
A baby gets eaten by its zombiefied mother in part 1, although it's just shown in shadows. In part 4, a young teenage boy get's blown up and another one dies twice, but gets brought back both times. A teenage boy also dies in part 5. A young boy also dies in part 7, although it's not shown and only mentioned in one panel.
Some stands may look like ghosts, tho they aren't technically. Still, many can be very creepy or disturbing. There is a ghost girl in part 4, but she doesn't do anything particularily creepy. She has a ghost dog with a cut neck, however...
There is plenty of regular gore in the series, and thus sounds are added, and sometimes the visuals are obscured but sounds can be heard, though the sound design tends to be sort of unrealistic, but discretion is still advised
Mixed portrayals of police throughout the series. In Part 1, policemen attempt to arrest the villain but are brutally killed by him. In Part 2, the main character calls cops pigs and they are shown abusing their power while harassing a black teenager. In Part 4 the main character's grandfather is a policeman who is portrayed in a positive light. In Part 5 one of the main characters is an ex-cop, but the corruption of the police-force is a point in his backstory.
In part 3, a character gets his eyes injured and there is multiple scene of him recovering at the hospital. In part 5, there is a character who is a doctor and he is shown torturing people in the hospital
There is a character in part 5 that is heavily implied to be mentally ill. He mutilates, tortures, and does many other terrible things to people in a makeshift hospital.
Yes. In part 4 a character is pained and hurt by the sound of a siren. He explains this as him being an alien and the sound damaging his ears, but it is unclear if he is telling the truth or not
The murder, Yoshikage Kira, freaks out and bites his nails till they bleed, and in the manga he carves the victory sign in japanese in them. He then gets an ability, Bites the Dust
-In part 7 the protagonist is self-ableistic and wants to "fix" himself, that being his main motivation throught out the part.
-A nurse acted ableistic towards him while he was being treated at a hospital. (medical malpractice)
In Part 5, two male lovers are tortured and then killed by the italian mafia. While the actual killing is not shown, there is a panel of the aftermath, which is very graphic. In Part 7, a bisexual woman is killed.
Not really, unless you count Polpo making a semi-joking statement about how his mind goes blank when he eats or that moment Giorno thought his body was a bed. We can't tell if that was a joke or not because turning into a bed might've been his ability of some sort.
In part 3, Muhammad Avdol is the first of the main cast to die, and it happens twice. The first time is a fake death (that was believed to be real to the audience, but then he surprisingly returns) and the second time he dies for real due to a stand attack, both times he is the first to die
early in part 2 (which, note) takes place in the late 30s), there are two cops harassing a young black boy. they are, however, quickly taken care of by Joseph Joestar
In part 6, (spoilers ahead), Weather Report accidentally starts an incestuous relationship with his twin sister, Perla, however, this is just due to a misunderstanding, and it ends (in a bad fashion, but it does end, nonetheless).
In part 8, there are a lot of implied sex scenes. In part 2, a character peeps in on another character who is naked, getting ready for a bath. In part 3, a little girl is almost sexually assaulted by an orangutan, there is a scene where 2 men become magnetized and stick together, where they accidentally get into multiple inappropriate positions, and there is sexual joke when a character transforms into a little kid, and has his crotch cleaned while he’s taking a bath, this as played as a joke as he “doesn’t know why it feel so good.” In part 4, there is a mention of a criminal who has raped many people, but it’s never shown on-screen. In part 5, there is an implication that a 13 year old boy was sexually assaulted by his teacher, and there is a joke that implies one character was giving another character a b*****b In part 6, the main protagonist mentions that she was caught masturbating, and says she is jealous when she learns about an organism that can have sex with almost anything. In part 7, there is a scene between two woman where one tries to seduce the other, as she puts her crotch on the others face, and a 14 year old was attempted to be raped by 2 separate men on 2 separate occasions.
Some parts of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure do have a happy ending; for instance, Part 4, Part 2, and others. Some do not, but most have a 'good' ending but with one to several character deaths along the way. (Only 3 major characters died in 4, however all but one died in part 6)
Several. In part 2, a car crashes after the driver had his hands cut off. In part 3, the antagonist forces a man to recklessly drive, as well as a crash in an earlier episode.
Guns are used in both Parts 1 & 2, although not often. Part 3 features a recurring character who uses a gun-based Stand, while a main character in Part 5 is often shown using a gun.
