There are three cops in the show (besides background characters), one is just a friend of the main couple and uses his position to help sometimes but it isn’t all that relevant to the plot. The other 2 are antagonists/obstacles for the main characters before one of them is manipulated into being helpful, abusing her power to help Shelia, the other crooked cop is killed. The show criticizes the police a fair amount.

He doesn’t die first but there is a black man who dies and gets turned into a zombie and when he comes back he is a better man and part of that is him speaking in a more “proper” manner than he was before which is bothersome. It just annoyed me that he goes from using AAVE and having an accent to speaking completely differently when he is “bettered”. Maybe he was just pretending to speak that way before to sound tougher since he talks about acting in a way he didn’t feel inside? Still it’s a little uncomfortable so I thought I’d mention.
