blue’s father is implied to have skipped town and/or gone missing
in the third book her mother also goes missing of her own choice (spoiler: she always meant to return and did indeed return eventually)
moreso towards the end of the series — time is fluid throughout the entire series, and lines between dream and reality can get super blurry.
in the fourth book things get kinda extra trippy: there’s a brief time loop situation as well as a lot of weirdass dream/vision content
one character experiences a severe episode of personalization / time loss (book 2)
also in book 2, characters take a sleeping pill on multiple occasions that moreso knocks you out than anything else
On one particular scene, one of the main character's physically abusive father tries to manipulate him into believing he hasn't really been abused and that no one would believe him.
One of the main characters has emotionally abusive parents, with a father who is physically abusive as well. His home life and childhood trauma are mentioned throughout but there is only one scene where the physical abuse is described in detail and it can be very upsetting to read.
the author has confirmed that the accused character did not sexually touch the other. he took a photo of his own genitals with the other person's phone and sent the image as if he was the other character.
a kid (16-17) also dies “on screen” in book 2, but it’s described in rather vague terms
a dream/vision version of another character dies “on screen” in book 3, but the real version of that character is fine
One of the main characters is made to enter a car at gunpoint on the first book. In the second half of the series describes with some level of detail his experience of being kidnapped as a child. In a later scene he's forced to enter a car and believes he's being kidnapped again.
It's complicated, but could definitely be read as such.
A girl begins acting romantically towards one of her friends while involved with another (though she doesn't kiss either of them). After breaking up with her boyfriend, she and the first boy begin a relationship but keep is a secret as to not hurt her ex's feelings, since they're all close friends, and they frequently mention feeling guilty about going behind their friend's back.
One of the main characters is possessed in the last book. His mind is fully conscious but he can't control his body and attempts to hurt others and briefly himself.
One of the main characters suffers from an anxiety/panic attack after having his phobia triggered, and calmly states as such. Another character tries to comfort him.
One of the main characters is held at gun point in the first book and guns continue to show up throughout. There is at least one death caused by a gunshout.
