Only mentioned on the soap opera everyone watches. Mostly mentioned for parody.

I am still early in the movie - about 50 mins or so, but the main character (Gwen) has many flashbacks to her childhood childhood and her alcoholic Mom, and she seems to have some interesting memories to say the least. Her Mom had some issues that impacted her children (Gwen and her sister), and her mom ends up neglecting her children including scenes where the mother is knocked out from so much drinking. She was woken by her children and she also makes has Gwen (as a child) sled down a snowy hill on a coffee table with her which causes them to nearly be hit by a car

Not shown on screen, but one character describes how another character needed a tracheotomy to be able to breath, after an alcoholic binge caused him to stuff a tube down his throat incorrectly, which cut off his air supply.

A character in a show they watch has a brain-tumor induced seizure. It is played up very dramatic like a soap opera (looks very fake) and thus, might not trigger those with seizure triggers.

I don’t know why people are saying “no” to this - it’s a major plot point.

Used needles/syringes are next to a person who has overdosed, and another character picks them up to try and identify what was in them. No needle/syringe scenes show actual use, just the resulting aftermath.

More of the slow-motion/quick zoom combos that a lot of films in the ‘90s/‘00s used. Could possibly be considered shaky for that time.
