Jeffrey Dahmer struggles with a difficult family life as a young boy. During his teenage years he slowly transforms, edging closer to the serial killer he was to become.

He lures a dog out Into the Woods with the intent to kill it, but chickens out last minute and yells at it to go away. Later on, the carcass of a large animal is found, but it is blurry so you can't tell if it's a dog or not. It definitely isn't the same dog though, because it's a different color. It might be a deer
The main character becomes obsessed with a local doctor that jogs a route near Dahmer's house on certain days of the week. He is shown hiding amongst trees/plants and watching the jogger.
A couple are in a verbal disagreement over divorce papers, the woman hits the man in the head with the papers, knocking his glasses off. This causes them to briefly be shown grabbing at each other and arguing.
Jeff and his friends go out fishing and despite being told that they needed to release anything they caught, Jeff kills a fish on-screen and gruesomely, saying he wanted to see what its insides looked like.
A fish is stabbed, a dog is lured into the woods with intent to do harm but is let go. The dog is yelled at to go away. All other animals were already dead when found, but it’s implied more were killed.
Dahmer slices open a fish with a knife. A character cuts the side of his hand, which is briefly shown, with another knife and mentions how his father slit someone’s throat with it.

The last scene is kidnapping but doesn't show anything more than a consenting hitchhiker getting in a car and the car drives away.
Dahmer and friends repeatedly use problematic language and gestures regarding disabled people. It is done so frequently they refer to it as “doing a Dahmer”
There is ableist and homophobic language used, including slurs.
Dahmer also asks a black man insensitive questions about the color of his skin, and how his body compares to Dahmer's body because of it.
Since the film deals with the early years of Dahmer’s life, no murders are shown. However, there are dead animals including gory roadkill, a couple of small but bloody injuries and a scene where a fish is sliced apart. Dahmer talks about having a fascination with the insides of people and animals, often referencing surgery and cutting people open.
