Not on screen, but it is mentioned that the reason the Mogs exist is so that they can kidnap girls from outside of Loruna so the gene pool within the city can expand. This is a passing comment, and the implications of that are never explored.

Marek reveals that he has been watching Shay as he's grown up. However, we don't see Marek stalking Shay and only meet him when he introduces himself to Shay during Shay's side of the campaign.

Sort of. Harmn'y Lightbeard, the leader of Meriloft, makes some attempts to indoctrinate Vella into his Lightness Beliefs/Cult while she is in Meriloft. These never work, as Vella can see right through him, but it's clear that his attempts have worked on the father of a family living there. Another note, the cult is less of an actual cult and more of a get-rich-quick scheme by the founder, Harmn'y, where he takes money and offerings from his followers so he can hoard them for himself. He is exposed for this in the latter half of Shay's story and is put in jail by his former lackey, F'ther, for his lies. The end credits show that F'ther has released Harmn'y, but his face implies that he's doing it more out of Harmn'y annoying him than loyalty.

We find out quite early on that girls are being ceremonially sacrificed (apparently to be eaten by a giant monster). It's not presented in a way that makes it terribly scary, but the implications are pretty grim.

A seagull is killed while Vella tests a heat ray to use against Mog Chothra. The death isn't graphic, as the bird just explodes into feathers and leaves behind two cartoon-style drumsticks. Vella also talks about killing Mog Chothra, and does shoot it down, but Mog Chothra is revealed to be an airship, not a monster.

There's a trough of chum by the ocean in Shellmound. Fishbones are seen floating in it. A seagull is also disintegrated on-screen near the end of Vella's first storyline.

You can encounter the snake as both Vella and Shay, but Shay is the only required encounter. Both encounters can be stressful though, as Vella and Shay both audibly are struggling to breathe while the snake squeezes them. Neither character dies from the encounter, as when Vella faints she is saved by Curtis, and Shay is immune to the squeezes due to the various strong hugs he grew up receiving.

Flecks that could either be dust or bugs fly out of Curtis the Lumberjack's mailbox if you open it as Vella. Bugs fly around a trough of chum in Shellmound, but they make no sound and are drawn as flecks of black with no distinguishable insect-like features.

Vella uses a knife to cut herself out of the top of a giant cake during the Maiden's Feast, but the only thing damaged is the cake. A knife is also used to cut wires during Shay's storyline, and the same knife, when interacting with the spoon, asks if he's worried about getting "cut" again (this is a pun on the knife's part, referring to how the fork in their set "cut" herself off from the spoon in favor of the knife.) There are also some moments where a knife is dropped/falls, but no one is harmed by it.

Vella and Shay can both encounter an "extremely territorial" snake that jumps from a tree branch and starts to constrict them. Only Shay's encounter is required to progress the game, and while he is audibly struggling to breathe, he isn't the least bit concerned about what's happening. The organizer of the Shellmound Maiden's Feast also swallows a whistle at the end of Act 1 and during Act 2 will make whistling sounds instead of speaking while trying to gain people's attention. However the whistle is removed for a puzzle, and he wasn't actually choking.

There is a reference/joke about it, where Shay is offered a breakfast cereal called "Soylent Dreams" and if he refuses it he says he's "not in that kind of mood today." If you don't understand the reference, you'll be fine.

A seagull is blasted with a heat ray during Vella's storyline, but it's far from realistic. The bird just explodes into feathers and leaves behind two cartoon roasted drumsticks.

A line of dialogue from the notoriously finicky Teleporters warns Shay and Vella to count their fingers and toes before leaving the teleporter pod, but this is just dialogue. No one actually loses anything.

Characters fall great distances but never seem to be harmed by it. The most intense is during Shay's storyline where it seems like he and three knitted creatures are going to fall into a pit of spikes, but the spikes are revealed to be rubber and cause no harm to any of them.

Not on screen, but Shay's Grabbin' Gary toy gets destroyed when the Maloruna and the Bassinostra melt together. A Yarn Pal is also unwoven after getting snagged on a thorn, but a drawing in the end credits shows Shay's mother knitting them back together

All of the girls at the Maiden's Feast are kidnapped and taken to Loruna to be used to "true the bloodline" there, however, the ones we meet are all rescued before they're even removed from quarantine and the tradition is put to a stop after the game ends. The end credits also show a drawing of Marek, the man that organized this attempt, being threatened by three of the Maidens, and another drawing of the Thrushmaster, the man who organized the kidnappings, and his accomplice being threatened by Vella's grandfather.

It's brief and non-sexual but it is there. In the opening cutscene of Shay's story, the automated arms of the ship take him aside, use a comical tube to remove his clothes, and then scrub him behind a curtain that goes up to his mid-chest. One arm goes below the curtain and Shay reacts with an "easy, computer!" to which she responds with a "stop being so shy, I used to change your diaper!" Later this process is repeated off-screen with a decoy Shay and Vella reacts with mild confusion and surprise.

NOT SAFE! it happens twice when you to make a tree vomit sap (audio and visual)
ACT 1 - when you play as Vella, when you have your stool ready just go to the tree, place your bucket on him and show him the stool, you can skip the scene by pressing the spacebar
ACT 2 - when you play as Shay the same tree does the same thing, this time when you put a sand crown under the tree and show him the picture of Vella, again, you can skip the scene by pressing the spacebar

Temporarily and sort of? Two puzzles require going through faulty teleporters to make Shay's head smaller and Vella's head bigger. Both of these changes aren't permanent, and after the puzzle is over they return to their normal size. Neither of them seems to be obsessively upset over it, instead just acting with surprise whenever it occurs.

No one has an eating disorder, but the talk between the girls at the first Maiden's Feast (talking about staying slim to attract Mog Chothra or stuffing their face to look more appetizing,) and the Spoon's dialogue about how many calories are in a bite of fictional cereal might trigger someone who does have an eating disorder.

The girls at the Maiden's Feast are all okay with Mog Chothra eating them, but they treat it more like a beauty pageant than suicide and are revealed to not have died anyway. Twyla, the maiden that wasn't picked during the Meriloft Maiden's Feast, mentions that her family might have "jumped off a cloud in shame" at her not being picked, but since we never meet her family anyway it's hard to say if that's true. M'ggie also mentions trying to jump off a cloud but she means it more as the start of running away than killing herself.

During the second half of Shay's campaign, the ship the Maloruna will begin to shake while the anti-gravity thrusters warm up. You can wait to do that part of the preparation last, but the shakey cam will extend into the cutscene of Shay, his father, Alex, and Vella's family leaving. The shakey cam also persists on both the Bassinostra and the Maloruna during the climax, as both ships are being shot at by Loruna's forces.

None seen but it is implied that they exist in Loruna due to how small the gene pool is. Eugenics is also mentioned to an extent via "selective breeding" in optional dialogue with Marek.

The Dead Eye Druids refuse to give Shay their stolen robes because they're both naked underneath. Later, when they give up on trying to believe in things religiously, they fall through the clouds and leave their robes behind them. Nothing but their naked backs are shown as they fly off into the distance and none of it is sexually charged. If the player decides to speak to the Thrushmaster during the latter half of Vella's campaign, he says some very creepy things about "trueing the bloodline," but it seems he's speaking less about procreation and more about turning non-Lorunian girls into a weird genetic mix.

Somewhat. Mog Chothra is revealed to be an airship, not a monster, and later crashes into the wall that separates Loruna from the rest of the world. No one appears to be hurt by the collission, though.
