In Vanessa´s manor you have the option to read her diary entries that show that she abused her prince. But there is no domestic violence on screen and you don´t have to read her diary to progress.

In a sense, if you stretch it; it's vaguely implied that the Snatcher was a victim of domestic abuse, but he's more of a cartoony supervillain type than a realistically portrayed abuser.

There are implications that the character Queen Vanessa abuses alcohol due to the many wine bottles scattered around her house.

In 2-1, there is a cartoonish “corpse” of an owl in a pool of blood. It is later revealed that the owl was never harmed. There are also animal enemies to be killed in the game, but all violence is cartoonish and non-graphic.

If you collect most of the storybook pages for Subcon Forest's purple time rift, there is a visual of Queen Vanessa's prince chained to the wall in her cellar. Prior storybook pages (same time rift) also show the prince being restrained and dragged away by guards.

- When Hat Kid reaches 1 HP, she will begin to struggle to breathe and attempt to catch her breath.
- Hat Kid can drown in water if she stays afloat for too long. After a few moments, she will begin to struggle.
- In the Nyakuza Metro DLC, during a mid-chapter cutscene, the Empress is seen holding one of her minions by the neck.

The jumpscares, listed in Act order
- She Came From Outer Space doesn't quite count but the sudden jumpcut to a mock horror film/alien encounter type scene may shock some viewers
- The Murder Scene in Murder on the Owl Express come extremely suddenly and can be considered a jumpscare.
- Contractual Obligations starts off with a jumpscare in the form of the player being captured in a net while an ominous and dissonant background music plays. A few crows fly across the screen and then the player is attacked by Snatcher who loudly shouts when introducing himself. He pops out of the ground a few other times during the chapter and later in the Act, introducing himself loudly.
- Queen Vanessa's Manor is entirely a horror-style level, so I reccommend you avoid it if you aren't good with horror. The game can be completed without playing through it and there is a skip early on in the level that allows you to bypass the horror section.
- The last Chapter of Alpine Skyline comes as a slight jumpscare since it starts out of nowhere. It occurs after collecting all the time pieces in the area.

In Subcon Forest there are talking nooses which attempt to encourage the player character to hang themself when the player grapples onto them. You need to grapple onto these in order to reach some parts of the level. **SPOILERS** There's also a level of this in the finale, though it's treated more as heroic self-sacrifice and is ultimately temporary.

Though not specifically nuclear, there are two acts in which explosions happen, both during Chapter 2. In 2-4, the Conductor reveals that there is a bomb on his train that is about to explode. If the player lets the time run out without reaching the front of the train and defusing the bomb, the bomb will explode and Hat Kid will die. In 2-6, the finale of Chapter 2, the boss straps the same bomb from 2-4 to Hat Kid’s back. Similarly, if you let the time run out, the bomb will explode and Hat Kid will die.
