Though the wolf does get stabbed by the main character (Keda) when Alpha first attacks, Keda takes pity and lets the wolf rest. He does not die. Keda is also attacked by a bobcat, in which Alpha steps in to help, where he is injured with blood shown, making Alpha fall down later in the movie and unable to keep going. But Keda carries him until he gets to his tribes home, where he is nursed to health and eventually has babies. Overall, a beautiful movie where the dog does NOT die. Do not listen to the troll comments at the bottom.

A bunch of bison die from falling off a cliff at the beginning of the movie. Some wild pigs and rabbits are also killed so the main characters can eat.
