There are several levels where you must hide to avoid being caught. If you fail, you die and the level restarts. This is portrayed more as animalistic hunting than people-stalking.

[Spoilers] At the end of the game, a creature of darkness (an owl) is vaporized by light. Not graphic.

All of the characters in the game are either fictional animals or they are heavily based off of real-life animals, including the combatants you fight. There's no gore, and any & all dead enemies despawn fairly quickly.

There's a location called Spider's Nest that you must traverse; one of the puzzles is to climb on a grouping of writhing spider eggs and knock them down to use as a platform - they do not hatch, it's solely used as a solid platform to walk and climb on. A common enemy in the game is a spider that spits magic bullets at you. It hangs from the ceiling and is stationary, and very colorful. There is no spider-themed boss.

There are a few bug enemies (like beetles) that you fight in different zones in the game.

Ori, the young protagonist, dies twice in plot-relevant cutscenes. Ori's age is unknown, but they seem young in this game. It's also shown in a cutscene that the antagonist's children died.

Certain sections of gameplay show "memories" of the past, using ghostly spectres of the characters from that time to visually tell the story.

I don't believe the game was designed to have jumpscares, but I was certainly spooked by some things on my first time playing. Occasionally enemies will burst out of seemingly nowhere as the music changes, and on the cat-and-mouse stealth levels you may get jumpscared by the animation of being caught.

A major game mechanic is enemies and plants that spit magic bullets at you.

[Spoilers] At the end of the story, the owl character does die to save her child. However, this is framed as a sacrifice rather than a suicide.

The title of the game uses the word “blind” in an ableist context, since it implies that there’s something wrong with the forest instead of the forest literally being unable to see.
