Neither dog deaths are shown. The first one we see the already dead dog’s body with a bbq fork sticking from the neck (it’s not a malicious or cruel reason), & the second is heard (I just mute the tv because the sound is terrible).
The father gets upset and yells at his children briefly during a family dinner scene, but it's more because of stress than malevolence and it passes quickly.
One of the children in the movie has asthma and is sometimes shown struggling to breathe and using his inhaler. There is one very intense asthma attack scene during the climax towards the end of the movie.

There is a scene where an alien's fingers are cut off with a knife, and a scene where its skin is burned as if by acid, but there is no blood in these scenes.
No, (not sure where else to put this) but the cop does use the “m” word. Trying to get a description of the suspect, she says “I don’t know if I’m looking for a giant or a m*****.”
After a child has a severe asthma attack, his father is seen applying some kind medical shot into his leg (like you’d see an epipen being used, not a long needled syringe)
A character states "it's time for an ass whooping" when they think some hooligans are on the roof. In the same scene the character yells "we're gonna beat you ass, bitch."
Someone weirdly suggests that the Uncle should have gone to the major leagues because of his old baseball records by saying he could be making stacks of money and “getting his toes licked by beautiful women” …
Heavily. The main character is a former priest who lost his faith over his wife's death. Topics including faith, forgiveness, and finding meaning are explored throughout the movie.
