Both of Sherry’s parents are neglectful of her the whole story, her mom leaves her to die in a landfill while a mutant William nearly kills her several times.
After triggering Mr. X’s first appearance, he will follow you the entire time you are in the police station and try to kill you. He will continue to follow you infrequently in other areas of the game.
The game revolves around a pharmaceutical company, the Umbrella Corporation, and their creation of a deadly virus. At one point a character is seen injecting it into his body.
At the start of the sewer section as Leon, you are chased by a giant zombie alligator for about 2 minutes. At the end of the section, you trick it into biting a gas pipe and detonate it, blowing its head open.
There is a fresh corpse of a woman kept in Chief Iron’s office that we can infer he “has his way” with, and notes where Iron’s discusses his necrophilic fantasies while dissecting animals. But there is no blatant mention of sexual violence.
A zombie that grabs you as you crawl through a barely open shutter at the start of the game is crushed to death and cut in half by another character who slams the shutter door shut on top of him.
Tons. The biggest examples being one scene early in the game where you see someone’s entire jaw is hanging off their head and dangerously close to falling off. William Birkin (Also referred to as “G”) is a reoccurring boss in the game who becomes increasingly more mutated and horrific looking the further the game goes.
Zombies regularly lose limbs in battle, or are seen already missing a limb. In a rather graphic scene towards the start, the player character fails to rescue a policeman trapped under a door, his lower half is eaten by zombies when they manage to pull him through. This is seen in both routes.
While there is not a hanging, in the early stages of the game there is a man impaled via his head that is dangling from the ceiling. While this is not exact, it is enough that it caused me to panic. Wishing you all well.
Most of the G bosses end with him falling down from a large height but he always survives and comes back. A major character is seemingly killed by falling off a collapsing platform but are revealed a few minutes later to have survived, although the other character who witnessed their “death” still believes them to be.
Strongly implied with an infected child offscreen in another room during Leon's campaign. After her father takes her to another room, a gunshot is heard.
No. Leon is a new and somewhat naive cop on the force who wishes to save people but doesn’t stand for corrupt behaviour. Police in general are depicted as trying to help and do the right thing but are woefully under-equipped and overwhelmed by the sheer scale and suddenness of the crisis. The police chief, Chief Irons, is corrupt but he is depicted as an antagonist and his actions are absolutely not celebrated or portrayed as right.
As Leon, you meet a character who is locked in a cell who tries to convince Leon to free him. However before Leon can decide on this, the man is killed by Mr X whose arm smashes through the wall behind the man, grabs him by the head and crushes him to death in his hands.
I would say yes, now not true hospitals but the final area of the game is VERY reminiscent of one and shares the creepy factor that comes with hospitals
The guns that are used, especially in the beginning of the game when the surroundings are pretty dark, give off a flash when shot. Not sure how much of an effect this has, but might be worth noting.
Aside from the first named death being a black character, there isn’t any offensive or otherwise misrepresentations of the black or Asian characters that appear in the game.
In a file in the police chief's office, he describes getting off on animal corpses. This is more a necrophilia thing than bestiality but it's worth a mention.
