The successes and failures of a couple determined to live in harmony with nature on a farm outside of Los Angeles are lovingly chronicled by filmmaking farmer John Chester, in this inspiring documentary.

Near the beginning of the film, footage is shown from inside a dog hoarder’s home, and it’s mentioned that many of them were euthanized. One of the dogs rescued is adopted and named Todd and lives a full happy life before dying of old age.
A coyote is shot and killed and the body is briefly seen through bushes, while another comes in contact with a water line and is seen to be in pain before being implied to be put down.
Aside from coyotes, no dead bodies of domestic dogs are seen and no death of dogs occur on screen.
Multiple, including multiple deaths seen on screen and bodies. Mostly chickens and ducks, but a lamb dies as well.
In addition to domestic animals, wild animals are shown to die on screen and bodies are shown, but many of these are from natural causes or a predator catching prey.
There is a scene featuring a dog hoarder’s home in the beginning. This is the only instance, as afterwards, many of the farm animals appear very well cared for.
Multiple mangled chickens can be seen throughout, as well as the animal culprit covered in blood. A baby lamb is also seen with it’s innards spilling and has to be euthanized because of it’s injuries.
