This movie contains 17 potentially triggering events.
entire plot is a man being ACCUSED of pedophilia, he isnt actually but if the idea bothers you its talked about the entire film to both adults and children in detail
Lucas's girlfriend closes his dog in another room, behind a frosted glass door, so that they can have uninterrupted sex. The camera lingers for a moment on the glass, where the dog's shape can be seen standing and the dog can be heard whining. The dog whimpers throughout the sex scene.
Some actions in this film may be triggering for some viewers. There are multiple instances of physical violence, including victims of physical violence being outnumbered and unnecessary physical violence against a teenager by a grown man.
theres a point where marcus goes to the store and when comes back his dad (lucas) has to leave abruptly but lucas kisses him on the forehead and says goodbye
Lucas's son, Marcus, is left locked out of the house after Lucas is arrested. However, Marcus witnesses the arrest and Lucas tells him what is happening. Marcus is able to shelter at his godfather's house.
Not explicitly, but the circumstances around the death of Lucas's dog may be triggering in this category for some viewers, as it is clearly a planned act occurring on or near his property.
(SPOILER)
Something similar to gaslighting does happen, but kind of in the opposite direction. A child admits to lying, but is told by adults that the lies are true (the adults are not intending to trick the child, they genuinely believe what they’re saying)
A deer is shot early in the film. The dog is killed off-screen and her body is shown in multiple shots. Some shots depict hunting trophies hung on interior walls.
There are multiple scenes of physical violence in this film as tensions rise and nearly all of them include one or more involved parties being pulled away and/or held back to prevent further fighting. In one scene, a grown man grabs a teenager and to prevent him running away/fighting back and hits him multiple times. Restraints such as handcuffs, rope, etc. are not depicted.
not technically, but the entire plot is centered around child sexual abuse and they clearly push the narrative that false accusations ruin lives. it’s a difficult watch if sa is a trigger, and it is not handled well
When Klara is being questioned about the particulars of Lucas's alleged behaviour, the kindergarten principle becomes distressed to the point that she turns and vomits into a trash can.
There is some swearing and name-calling, but no hate speech. Someone please provide details if I'm mistaken. I don't understand why this was rated a "yes" so many times and all other related categories here are overwhelmingly rated "no".
A deer is shot on-screen. Additionally, at the end the main character is almost shot in the head, though it is left ambiguous as to whether it was an accident
