When CIA analyst Jack Ryan stumbles upon a suspicious series of bank transfers his search for answers pulls him from the safety of his desk job and catapults him into a deadly game of cat and mouse throughout Europe and the Middle East, with a rising terrorist figurehead preparing for a massive attack against the US and her allies.
This tv show contains 33 potentially triggering events.
Not literally (so far), but there is transphobia. In season 1, someone says "did you pick up another [t slur] by accident". In season 2, a "bad guy" is depicted dressing as a woman as a disguise.
Season 1: Emotionally and psychologically abusive relationship dynamics are depicted with some mild physical aggressions but no physical violence is shown between direct partners that I recall.
There are a number of scenes in Season 1 where two young girls are chased, tied up, grabbed and shoved, one appears in potential danger of being sexually assaulted (but fortunately nothing like that ever happens).
There is a discussion of hunting wolves but you don’t actually see it happen or any wolf bodies - you do hear wolves in the distance but you never see one
S1E2 an adult leers at a teenage girl. At 29:10-30:21 he blocks her against a wall and and makes her accept a candy. She is terrified. S1E3 45:00- 46:30 a man drags a woman off with intent to rape her. We see him start to assault her but the attack is stopped. Earlier: a man is kissed by a stranger without permission. They have drunken sex and then her husband suddenly beats him.
There is 1 creep in the first season that is very uncomfortable to watch with an underage girl (suggestive, intimidating) and in a different episode there is an attempt at sexual assault on a woman, but it never occurs. She beats him away and escapes.
Season 1 shows a truck full of people being smuggled through Syria to get across the border into Turkey, and an older woman is shown with wet bottoms and urine all over the floor around her.
Multiple hospital scenes shown from lab areas, reception and rooms..
Jacks love interest is a doctor so many of her scenes are lab and hospital based, as well as scenes showing people checking into and waiting for doctors, Jack is also shown as a patient getting an MRI etc.
Season 1: Jack appears to have PTSD like symptoms including flashbacks, insomnia and some difficult anxiety related breathing issues etc. so perhaps not exactly traditional anxiety attacks, but obvious signs of severe mental distress and related behaviour occurs.
S02E02 not traditional “claustrophobia” but there’s an attack scene where a plastic bag is placed over Jack’s head and he is almost suffocated, which may be hard for someone to watch if they have struggle with confinement / fear of lack of oxygen.
In season 1, someone says "did you pick up another [t slur] by accident". And in season 2, a "bad guy" character is depicted dressing as a woman as a disguise (transphobic trope).
The “good” guys win and the “bad” guys lose, but it’s still not a “happy” ending in as much as many people die, deal with trauma and violence, and various other struggles.
Spoiler:
Not a ‘wipe out all humanity’ nuclear explosion, but a nuclear missile being carried in a truck explodes, originally intending to take out 15-20k people
