In Episode 2 Gabriel Byrne and Elizabeth McGovern leave a dog behind in the apocalypse. The dog is just calmly standing next to it's dead owner, already has a leash on.
"Look, the dog didn't die!" says Gabriel Byrne. "Anyway, let's GTFO!"
They leave without the dog.
Gabriel Byrne is about to close and lock the front door of the building when he stops and props the door open.
"What are you doing?!?" Elizabeth McGovern asks, clearly concerned about her apartment building in the apocalypse.
"The dog might get hungry!" Gabriel Byrne's character (who is probably a genius or something) actually says.
And then they just f***ing leave. So yeah, you don't see the dog die but it's just a fluffy little muppet and is most royally screwed now.
Thumbs down!!

An already dead bird (maybe chicken) is seen, and a teenager prods at it. You don't see it for very long

No cats are really seen, and they aren't seen as a threat, so they have survived.
