around the 44 min. mark when the cat goes upstairs... if you'd like to skip it, jump forward a couple of times (like 20-30 seconds), you won't miss anything important.
A young man is tied to a police officer like he is on a leash. The police officer leads him into a very bloody and dangerous house and the man is clearly very scared and uncomfortable; he repeatedly asks to be released but he never gets the keys.
A woman is mounted and kissed by a violent intruder while she's sound asleep. It may not count as assault to some, but I know it could potentially trigger others.
A woman sticks a pair of large shears into a sleeping pregnant woman (who is expected to have her baby born in the next couple of days) to cut out the baby and steal it. She wakes up and fights her off. Later the woman succeeds in cutting the baby out of her womb. No shaving scenes to worry about though!
Yes, her face is very badly burned after a woman defends herself by getting a lighter and aerosol can of hair spray to make a makeshift flamethrower. The woman’s burned, disfigured face makes her look like a monster for the rest of the movie. It’s disturbing
Yes, a woman hiding in her own bathroom accidentally kill her mother by stabbing her in the throat (she mistook her for the home intruder trying to steal her baby). Both the mom and the daughter are HORRIFIED, the mother bleeds out as the daughter weeps and begs her not to die, that she thought she was someone else… this isn’t a great movie to watch in general after your mother dies, as I found out the hard way.
You see the pregnant lady gagging in her chair and then she starts v*miting up a white liquid; you see quite a lot of it come out of her mouth and onto the floor.
This is one of the most extreme, violent horror movies ever made (even for French ‘New Extremity” films) and they make sure there is a corresponding horrible sounds accompany the gore onscreen, such as skin and flesh being cut into (or pierced) by a giant sharp set of shears… among other violent, gruesome scenes.
Definitely, through the last hour of the movie, many times to many people, (very graphic and brutally)but also to the nine-months-pregnant heroine. I seriously recommend that if violence or gore bothers you, OR especially if you are pregnant, skip this horror movie. This jaded longtime horror fan got so horrified by the ending I started to cry towards the end. I watch lots of violent horror and I hardly *ever* cry when something really disturbing happens. This movie takes it to a whole new level and is Unrated for good reason.
The heroine spends the last hour of the movie kind of in one long anxiety attack, in reactions to the horrible, brutal experiences constantly happening all around her and to her. Plus the added terror that the woman’s main attacker wants her unborn baby. In fact, during a “making of” DVD featurette, we see that the actress actually had panic attacks and burst into tears several times during the filming of the movie.
We have shots of a baby (about to be born any day) in the womb making noises of distress as the mom is attacked in various ways, and the baby getting jostled around as her mom is attacked. That is the only sound the baby makes. If you are bothered or triggered by a baby crying, this is NOT a good horror movie to watch, as things get way, way worse than that.
I feel even my description is going to be disturbing, but this is what happens and I’m just documenting it here. There is what you could call childbirth, as far as one woman cuts open a helpless woman in labor pains screaming in agony, to save the baby and keep it for herself, the baby has to come out by cesarean. Well, sort of, since it is done in someone’s home on a staircase in unsterile conditions, and performed by a psychopath rather than a medical professional. There are literally rivers of blood flowing down the stairs. We realize shortly after that the baby is not alive anymore. I’ve said this in my other posts on the movie, but it bears repeating-I cannot stress enough how it would be a bad idea to watch this movie while pregnant, or your spouse is.
Yes, she bleeds out when another woman who has broken into her home cuts her womb open with a sharp pair of large shears. It’s very graphic. Trust me, this is not a movie to watch if you or someone you love is currently pregnant.
There is seriously not enough room to document every instance of blood and gore. This is one of the most gruesome/extreme horror movies ever made. I have a strong stomach and still recoiled a few times. By the end of the movie, every surface that can have blood on it, has blood on it. The heroine starts out the movie in a white but by the end it could easily mistake it as a red dress as it is completely soaked in blood. Every death is nasty, messy, harrowing, and intense.
Yes, more than once. This includes a very graphic shot of a guy in a bathroom trying to rescue an injured woman. Shotgun blast from behind and his head explodes, blood everywhere. The actress playing the injured woman had to take a break after a take because it upset her so much she was weeping.
