Sexual assault is a huge theme in this movie. At the beginning, you see a rape get stopped as it’s about to happen. There are also flashes of an assault that happened, but never a full scene showing it.
A character is killed through suffocation. Multiple people are choked and/or restrained by the throat through the movie. Characters are also shown having difficulty breathing when panicked or injured.
We see one man on fire, flailing and screaming. After that, a whole bunch of people are trapped in a room that's on fire, but we don't see them burning; we only see the doors being shut and the burning house from the outside.
A number of people are possessed by something evil. I'm not sure if they're aware that they're possessed. It doesn't take the form of your typical demonic possession; it just affects/controls their actions.
One of the main characters is experiencing PTSD from an assault. She has flashbacks throughout the movie that make her dissociate and freeze up. This is particularly prominent during the dance performance early on and the frat house scene near the end.
There's a scene in which someone has flashbacks while something is happening to her, the "scene" switching back and forth quickly between what's going on and what happened in the past. This may not be the only instance of images or lights flashing, it's just what I can recall.
I'd say so. The way I understood it, a number of people who have done horrible things, but did it while possessed, are murdered (burned to death) moments after the spell that caused the possession is lifted.
The gore is minor. Most injuries and deaths happen offscreen, and when they are onscreen they are usually obscured or in low light. Aside from the injuries sustained by the main cast, most of the blood is inky black instead of red.
