Follow Blitzo, a classic demon Imp who sets out to run his own small assassin business with his weapons specialist Moxxie, his bruiser Millie, and his receptionist hellhound Loona. Together they attempt to survive each other while running a startup in Hell.
This tv show contains 100 potentially triggering events.
In season 1's "Exes and Ooohs", we meet Moxxie's father, Crimson--throughout the episode he is physically and mentally abusive to Moxxie, and flashbacks prove he's been the same way since Moxxie was small.
In the season 2 premiere, "The Circus," Stolas' father Paimon forces him into an arranged marriage with the shrewish Stella and is implied to be supremely neglectful. We also meet Blitzø's father Cash Buckzo, who not only sells Blitzø to Paimon for literal pocket change but then goes on to demand the child steal as much as he can carry out of the house.
One repeated character is yelled at by his wife, and has items thrown at him and smashed on the walls, in response to him cheating on her.
A one-off character murders her spouse for cheating.
Moxxie's father was implied to be severely abusive to his wife in the past--contrarily, Moxxie dotes on his wife Millie, and the relationship is amazingly respectful and healthy.
This is a comment for the previous comment but the horse that "lost a leg" was a balloon animal that was made without one leg. The missing a leg due to diabetes was a joke by the one who made it trying to play off why he forgot to make one of the legs.
In a scene where the characters are observing nature, some bunnies are torn apart by wolves, a wolf is attacked by a bear and the bear gets crushed by a falling tree.
It's not onscreen long, but in "The Circus", Paimon shows Stolas a photo of young Stella. She's violently strangling a small dog-looking creature while a second one looks on tearfully.
There are some hell hounds in a prison like "adoption center". Its implied and even mentioned by a character they are sad and another one is seen crying. However they are not really animals since they are anthropomorphic or "furry" dogs.
Blitzo gives Loona a present that explodes into a bunch of spiders with the comment of "you love spiders". Loona is less than impressed. Spiders crawl all over her and one bounces from a thread off her nose.
Some characters have features of snakes, the most visible is "Striker" in episode 5. He got a tail that rattles like a snake, and his movement are very "snake-like"
Moxxie gets bitten by a shark a few times, and in S2: E3, there seems to be a species of shark-like demons which appear prominently throughout the episode.
None of the important characters are pedophiles but there is a joke in the show where Blitzo rips off a Santa outfit from a background character which reveals that they're a pedophilic gnome
In episode 1, while it isn't explicitly shown, the family the characters attack has a cooked dead person on a serving plate. They also show a brief scene of eyes and other gore being in a salad.
In S1: E5, Striker tries to choke Moxxie to death. He almost succeeds, but is interrupted. He tries to do it again in S2: E4, but fails again, and the act itself is far less intense than in the previous attempt.
I believe there is multiple times a bone is broken, but the one most noticeable is episode 5 s1, during a fight a character break their arms with an open fracture
A character is kidnapped by a hired assasin, who tortures him and nearly kills him. This is one of the main plots this episode but is constantly interrupted by shenanigans of another character taking his daughter to a hospital for a shot.
A character falsely confesses to a crime to save the life of the character who was moments away from being publicly executed, & assumed he'd be executed in their place.
No, in fact its implied in lore since demons are so hard to kill they cant overdose. (however this immunity is more is implied in the other series taking place in the same world called hazbin hotel)
In Murder Family, both the father and mother characters are killed; the mother being shot in the head while the father is killed within the exploding house.
(I'll try to keep this list updated as the series goes on ^^ Sorry it's kinda long! Making this for my fellow emetophobes)
The pilot and S1: E1 are safe.
S1: E2, a character v* into a garbage can at 8:00 - 8:04. The character is heard (cartoonishly) retching with vague sounds accompanying it. A family of imps walks by in the background with bits of his v* on them, but it just looks like green splotches on them.
S1: E3, a background character v* on the ground at 8:53 - 9:06. Visual (unrealistic) with quiet sounds, but no retching.
S1: E4, a character v* at 6:27. It lasts for just about a second, but the v* is still visible until 6:37. No visual aside from that, mild audio with no retching.
S1: E5-7 are safe.
S1: E8, there are two scenes. A character shows a picture of another character v* from their phone at 1:36 - 1:41. Visual (Unrealistic and cartoonish) but no audio. At 13:14, a character asks another character if he needs to v*. He says no and nothing happens yet. At 14:12-14:19, the character suddenly v* without warning. Visual (Cartoonishly exaggerated, possibly triggering) with very graphic audio.
S2: E1 is safe.
S2: E2, a character abruptly v* without warning at 4:25 - 4:27. Visual and graphic audio.
S2: E3-5 are safe.
The O Blitzø's name is silent (I'm guessing he changed it because he doesn't want to be associated with the circus he grew up in), but people constantly disregard this, usually on purpose just to upset him. I'm not sure if this counts as deadnaming, but I'll put it here just to be safe.
Stolas cheating on Stella with Blitzø could be considered bisexual cheating, but I think it's canon that Stolas is gay and was forced into a straight, arranged marriage. Not sure if it still counts or not tho
A male character’s affair with another man is exposed, but people don’t really care about the gay part. Generally in the Helluva Boss universe being gay isn’t presented as something secretive or taboo and it’s not stated whether the other character’s knew the character was gay beforehand so I wouldn’t count it as outing, but in the real
world it would be.
Yes, however i see why most people say "no" since its very minor what happens is Blitz breaks into a rehab facility where his sister used to be. However no patients are viewed and its a very short scene.
Moxxie can be read as autistic coded, he has special interests in theatre and guns, and the few instances where he's infodumped about these interests, the characters around him react with annoyance. He is also routinely chided for being "different" from other Imps and has been called "retarded" and a "smooth brain".
No but in episode 1, the teacher shoots herself in front of her children.
In episode 4, the old man tries to kill himself but fails, he is accidentally killed by the cherubs at the end though.
Blitzo says Loona cannot come to the human world because of the "freaks up there who'd drool all over [her]". Blitzo, Loona, Moxxie and Millie proceed to glare disapprovingly at the camera for a moment.
It depends on whether you consider it a joke or not, Blitzo and Moxxie wear a dress in the episode for a brief amount of time but it isn't really the butt of the joke
In episode 3 (I think), IMP kills a bunch of humans. The humans are seen behaving in a sexual/romantic manner with others, including straight, gay and polyamorous relationships. Some humans are also shown with top surgery scars. None of them are specifically targeted due to this, though.
In the pilot, when Moxxie asks Loona why he's being faxed a weight loss ad, she only responds with "C'mon, you know why."
She also calls Moxxie a "fatso" in episode 4.
Not discussed persè. We mainly get an idea of what hell is like since that’s where the show mainly takes place. There is only one episode depicting how Cherubs in heaven operate. Which made cherubs and Heaven seem pretty asshole-ish.
There is so much sexual content. Every episode has some form of sexual joke, punchline or scene. If this is a sensitive topic for you, it is best you avoid this show altogether.
No sex scenes with BDSM are shown. However, there is a scene with Stolas/Blitzo after sex which shows Stolas having a gag around his neck and Blitzo using a cig to burn the ropes off Stolas as he was tied up. There is some BDSM jokes within the show and there's even a scene where Blitzo visits a bondage and sex toy shop.
In s2 e3 a character drowns on screen, it’s part of a larger flashback scene involving several other deaths and a lot of abuse/manipulation. It was triggering to me and it’s not even something I’m generally triggered by starts at around 13:20 at about 13:57 (the drowning part, the flashback starts at 12:30ish)
The scene is not super important, and mostly is just to demonstrate that moxies dad is abusive
