In the Fall of 1940, the entire population of Friar, New Hampshire walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness. Without warning, they left behind everything: their homes, their clothes, and their money. The only clue where they went was a single word etched into stone near the forest’s edge: YELLOWBRICKROAD.

A woman deliberately steps off of a tall cliff, shown from far away but clear enough to understand what's going on. A man mentions thinking about killing himself before he harms someone else. A man films himself cutting his wrists on camera; his body and suicide note are shown; we hear him killing himself on camera but don't see the act, but do watch him slowly die. A woman kills herself by eating poisonous berries.
