The Eternals are a team of ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. When an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows, they are forced to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.
This movie contains 24 potentially triggering events.
It's sort of a complicated case, considering both of them technically are the same age due to being ageless beings and do not actually get in any sort of relationship, but it's mentioned that Sprite (who resembles a young teenager) is romantically interested in Ikaris (who resembles an adult).
Kind of? The characters are all semi-analogues of various mythological and religious figures, ie, Arishem=Hashem, Sersi=Circe, Thena=Athena. But they don't really talk about the veracity of anything.
Sprite, who looks like a child but is actually ageless like the others, chooses to become human, age, and eventually die. She does not die in the movie and it is implied she'll be in future movies
MAJOR: During a conversation between Sersi and Ikaris in a forest, when Ikaris wants to admit something to her, he is suddenly attacked by one of the Deviants.
MAJOR: While in Phastos’ house, in the middle of a table conversation between Phastos, Ikaris and Sersi, Ikaris suddenly uses his heat vision.
MINOR: Moments later Ikaris assumes the table is made of vibranium and smashes it with his fist. (This scene is in the Final Trailer.)
MINOR: The Eternals make their way through the Domo while being filmed by Karun/Kingo, and there is a mild noise that scares the group.
I should mention that the website Screen It said there was no jump scares in this movie, and I decided to listen to them. Do not listen to them, they suck at jump scare notes 😑.
Thena has some violent outbreaks caused by something called Mahd Wy'ry and it is portrayed as if she's mentally ill, but she really has some type of flashbacks from previous "lifes"
It is implied that a main character kills themselves (but their fate may be left ambiguous seeing as this is a Marvel movie and they like to bring characters back)
There is violence and wounds are visible at times. Those wounds are never overly gorey or bloody and are healed quickly.
*SPOILERS*
Deviants have needle like appendages that they stab the Eternals with, no blood is visible, but could be considered gore or body horror.
