The DV isn’t implied—it’s stated that one of the main characters lived through that sort of thing, and that her ex threatened to kill her and their daughter if she ever tried to leave—but it’s not shown onscreen either.
A child is kidnapped and faced with a violent situation. The violence is not aimed at the child directly. There is mention of another child suffering at the hands of kidnappers.
Not abused, but a deer is shot and killed shortly after being shot, and a butterfly is killed as well.
The deer scene is right away, in the first 4 minutes of the movie if you need to skip that.
No shaving scenes, but there is a scene where someone is killed by a rusty soup can cutting them. There are also a lot of knife fights and such. Stabbing galore!
I don’t know why everyone voted no, there is so much gore. It very explicitly shows stabbings, deep cuts, and towards the beginning of the movie you see a dead deer with its organs all over the ground. Injuries are shown in graphic detail, including stabbings, slit throats, gunshot wounds, dislocated joints… emphasis on stabbing and cutting. So much stabbing…
