Not in the traditional sense, but in one scene it becomes clear that the restaurant staff has taken pictures of the customers and/or has accessed their personal information.
So I will say no, because they don’t specifically have any children or talk about pedophilia, however, there is a situation with the main character and one of the men.
** Spoiler ** The main character is a sex worker and one of the other guests had hired her. He asks her to maintain eye contact when he was jerking off, and to say that she is his daughter.
Not exactly, but someone who's tied up is lowered into water slowly from a crane. He's not HELD under water - no pressure is applied - but he can't get up because he's tied, so he drowns. It's seen from a distance.
The male character is actually stabbed in the thigh (a callback to a story told earlier in the film) but it very much looks like it’s going to go into his genitals. It’s far up on his thigh and pointed upward. No gore is shown except some blood on his clothes. It happens after they go outside and a woman tells a story about being sexually harassed. Not shown again after this scene, although the man start limping
Depends on definition of torture. Spoiler: a man is restrained while they cut one of his fingers off and the guests are being held hostage and tormented with mind games/death
No, no one falls to their death. One hangs himself, and one is lowered into water and drowns, so there's downward motion leading to death, but that's not what's meant by "falling to one's death".
The main villain does mention having childhood trauma and there is a sort of s**cide cult. No characters are called cr*zy or diagnosed with mental illness
After having a discussion with the chef in his office, the main character is walking back to her seat in shock; you can hear a ringing in her ears and the sides of the screen are blurry and it's clear that she isn't paying attention to what's going on around her for a minute, but I'm not sure if that can be considered dissociation.
I don't know what everyone else is talking about- I had a lot of trouble watching this movie with the sound on. The noises may seem "quiet" to some people, but being "quiet" doesn't really matter with misophonia. What matters is if the trigger is there at all, and trust me, it is. Characters speak with mouths full of food, and swallowing and chewing noises are common and audible. Watch this movie with subtitles and the mute button in hand.
