This is a tricky one. It could be triggering for some people as it shows 2 parental figures actively hating a child in their care. One of the main characters is physically abusive to the child at several points in the film. Having said this the child is firmly the antagonist of the film and his relationship with the main characters is not a traditional child and parent dynamic

I would say yes but it's up to interpretation. The Child is abused by Gemma and Tom and he begins to get close with Gemma later in the movie.

I answered yes because the entire film focuses on the main characters feeling watched but not being able to catch their captors. There's a real sense of paranoia and dread that might be upsetting to those sensitive to stalking themes.

*Spoiler: Answered yes because the kid ends up essentially mentally torturing at least gemma toward the end, and is at least partially responsible for her death—could be upsetting for viewers sensitive to this

In some ways, that is one of the effects of certain characters' behaviors, but it is not necessarily intentional gaslighting.

No one drinks anything other then a very small amount of champagne in the film, but they do mention getting blackout drunk when they first met. They don't go into detail and it's a sentimental moment.

A woman smilingly asks if her boyfriend killed some baby birds, but it was not him. He then continues to goof around while burying them. So no abuse since the animals were already dead, but not very respectful either.

There is abuse of a child that acts in a manner very easily read as autistic. He is regularly punished for behaviors that are specifically autistic-coded. His surrogate parents do threaten to, attempt to, and consider killing him or letting him die.

The movie has an uncanny “fake world” feeling, kind of like dolls living in a dollhouse. Everything is meticulously “perfect” and directions have lost their meaning. If i remember right, Edward Scissorhand had a similar type of vibe.
