Clone High is a Canadian-American adult animated television series that aired for one season on MTV and Teletoon.
The series had run in its entirety in Canada on Teletoon before premiering in the United States on MTV. The last five episodes were never broadcast in the United States. The Clone High theme song was written by Liam Lynch and performed by alternative rock band Abandoned Pools, who also provided much of the series' background music.
This tv show contains 57 potentially triggering events.
The robot dog given to the principal ends up being a spy. It shoots lasers at the butler robot only for it to reflect and kill the robot dog. I'm not sure if robot dogs count, but I'm including it anyways because I have nothing better to do.
Sort of. A student's head is stuck in a plastic bag that fills with his blood, causing him to suffocate to death. It's one of the most graphic scenes in the show.
Cleo at random times talks about her alcoholic foster mum who has thrown glasses at Cleo and proven to be a negligent parent but the situation was never seriously talked about, only ever casually mentioned
Episode 6 has a particularly gory montage of many animals being killed in gruesome cartoonish ways. A bear is shot and killed in episode 11 then its dead body carried around, looks as if it's being worn as some kind of piece of clothing
In the Litter episode there are many assault jokes and the audience is supposed to presume an assault is going to happen in a "dropping the soap" type joke at many points of the B-plot but in the end everything is ok and they all become friends instead.
The holiday special (snowflake day) consists of an abundant amount of gore as main character Abe keeps slicing open his mouth on accident and he eats shard's of glass as a direct order from the clone of napoleon bonaparte. None of the gore is detailed though :^)
In the Litter episode there was a graphic death scene where a student is attacked by all the litter he's dropped and eventually asphyxiates. Extremely graphic and probably the most gruesome display in the show
Scudworth and the principal of GESH made a bet an scudworth lost meaning his first born brian now "belonged" to the gesh principal and when scudworth asks how brian is the other pricipal says "delicious" while eating chili, suggesting that brian is ground up in the chili.
In episode 5, a robot v****s up oil and parts, in episode 10 there is a reference to a student v****ing by Principle Scudworth, but it is never shown, and in episode 13 JFK mentions that another character v****s but it is never shown on screen or elaborated on.
Episode 6: it is alluded to that someone ate another character's son in dialogue. At the end of the episode, another person's torso is bitten off and eaten by a creature.
In episode 3, (A.D.D.: The Last D is for Disorder) there is a character who stays at the "Infirmary for the Brainsick." It is an exaggerated depiction that makes fun of how disability and mental illness was treated in the media at the time. The scene in the institution does not last very long.
A character thinks she is hearing voices for the majority of an episode, but it is actually her retainer wire playing the radio.
Another character with ADHD is treated as though he has a serious mental illness in a comedic episode. It parodies how health conditions were treated on TV at the time and is comedic in tone.
No but there is an eating disorder joke. The board of shadowy figures is on facetime w/ scudworth after a riot broke out at the school and shadowy figure says "Youre on thin ice- clone of karen carpenter thin." The joke is that karen carpenter had anorexia nervosa and was incredibly thin. It's very-blink-and-you'll-miss-it but it could be incredibly triggering if you do catch it.
I'm not sure if this would count as strobe effects, but there's this rainbow background that is very bright and pulsates different colors behind dancing characters in Episode 9. It is when they are having a drug trip. It hurt my eyes enough that I had to click away. There are also flashing lights at the halfway point when it says Clone High (I assume for what would be a commercial break) in Episode 10.
The third episode has Gandhi get diagnosed with ADD and a lot of people begin to ostracize him for it. The way he gets bullied is more based in ridiculous assumptions than realistic hate speech, like that it's contagious, though there are some jokes that play into ADD stereotypes.
I don't know for sure if there are any explicit antisemitic remarks, but there are some references to Nazis at times; the rival high school's logo resembles the Nazi flag (except with a "G" in place of the swastika), for one thing. A clone of Hitler also appears as a minor, non-speaking character, but is implied to be far less of a bad person than his clone father was.
