Hubie Dubois who, despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts (and its legendary Halloween celebration), is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something really is going bump in the night, and it’s up to Hubie to save Halloween.
This movie contains 13 potentially triggering events.
No human pooping onscreen, but poop is shown on a newspaper on the floor. Later, a dog poops and then eats the poop, but you don’t really see it that well
Several parts of the movie are shown from the perspective of someone watching other people without them knowing, or the person watching is shown but other characters don’t know they’re there
Hubie thinks highly of everyone, including the people who actively try to hurt him and make his life harder. He completely forgives everyone who tormented and harassed him
No not really, but the townspeople throw increasingly dangerous things at Hubie throughout the movie. At first it’s eggs and flaming bags of poop, then it escalates to traffic cones and spears and stuff. He dodges everything and isn’t hurt but the bullies are intending to hurt him
It’s unclear how old the character is because she is referred to as “Miss” by a younger student, but a young woman is hit on by a significantly older guy and she calls him out on it, saying that he’s basically 3 times her age. I assumed her character is about 20 or so but I could be wrong because it’s not explicitly stated
During the drive in movie scene, there is a zombie movie playing in the background where a zombie is eating people (face, arms, hands, etc.) but most of it is very brief and not the focus of the scene. I missed 90% of it the first time I watched it
It is instant. Be aware. Be very aware. It happens so suddenly but only lasts a second. It is in the very beginning after he catches the eggs with his thermos.
Hubie himself shows some stereotypical signs of autism and it's more often than not the butt of jokes. As far as I know there isn't much more than that.
