Dragon Ball Z Abridged is the title of TeamFourStar's abridged series based on the Dragon Ball Z anime. This abridged series is one of the most successful series created in '08-'09 and was featured on That Guy with The Glasses official website. Dragon Ball Z Abridged is a direct parody with most characters and plot lines remaining relatively unchanged.
This tv show contains 34 potentially triggering events.
There is one scene where a character is repairing a van and another asks them how the "tr*nny" is coming along, in reference to the transmission. The other responds they don't believe the van identifies as male or female before realizing what they meant.
Android 16 has been more or less confirmed to be autistic coded by the creators and while mild he is sometimes at the receiving end of rude comments for only being able to talk about mostly birds and killing Goku
There’s also this in Kai 2.9
“I shorten Vinegar all the time ,but you don’t hear me calling myself-“
“Vinnie, you’re gonna get us in trouble again!”
Especially worth noting there’s a bleeped one at the end (albeit it was confirmed that the word itself was not spoken by the actress saying the line)
Frieza plainly states "I'm going to drown you like a sack of dumb puppies." He then forces Goku underwater and holds him there until Goku is nearly dead.
There is a character from an alien species who is stated to reproduce asexually and other characters are disgusted by it, though these characters are jerks anyways
Ok so, the way team four star does piccolo can really easily be read as did, like, there’s eventually 3 people living in the Sam body and the communicate. It probably can count as DID misrepresentation. But it’s honestly my favorite (as a system) because the show doesn’t take it seriously, at all, it’s not a super power or a curse or some big thing, it’s a running gag
Maybe not for everyone, but i personally recommend to system friends
"What the hell's a kami?"
"It means 'god.' Now bow."
There is minor discussion of Kami being the "god" or guardian for Earth. Considering how much the Earth gets wrecked up, he's not very good at it.
A bus driver honks his horn at Cell repeatedly because Cell is blocking the road. Cell mocks the driver by yelling "BEEP" every time the driver honks at him.
In the "Super Android 13" movie an android states that "jet fuel can't melt steel," which is a common 9/11 conspiracy line. Two androids also blow up a building, which leads Goku to yell "terrorists!"
Depending on your viewpoint this version of Yajirobe and Korin are in a realtionship. The first Christmas Special also mentions of a Misfit Minion committing rather terrible acts on a reindeer which as far as we can tell doesn’t have the benefit of the Harkness test like the former
There are physical transformations of many characters, mostly villains, that would qualify. Frieza, Vegeta, Zarbon, and Cell all have bodily transformations that sometimes turn them very monstrous-looking. Cell also "drinks people" and his process for doing that is disturbing.
Namekian characters frequently lose limbs but can regrow them. There's a scene where a villain rips one of their arms off repeatedly. Tien has his hand cut off early on.
In the episode for the movie "The Return of Cooler" Vegeta is mercilessly "kicked in the dick." He ends up kicked in the dick by 1000 metal monsters and is shown moaning in pain with his voice really high.
Piccolo has to throw himself in front of a blast to save Gohan because Gohan can't DODGE! Goku also sacrifices himself by transporting the self-destructing Cell away from Earth.
There's a brief gag about Yamcha hanging himself in an alternate timeline. In the beginning of one episode, a large group of people takes cyanide pills simultaneously. Cell blows himself up but is brought back soon afterwards
Goku is shown underwater a few times on Namek. In one scene he tries to trick Frieza with some sneaky energy blasts. In another he is being drowned by Frieza.
There are two characters who use an attack called the "Seizure Procedure" where red and blue lights flash and cause another character to have a seizure. The editor for the show stated that he made sure to have it so that nobody would actually have a seizure from this scene by editing the color contrast and timing, but this scene goes from 5:17-5:28 if you want to skip it just in case.
There's a recurring joke where "fag" stands for "freaky alien genotype". One character says that several flamboyant characters "look like a bunch of queers"
There are some jokes of this sort. One character is surprised that Frieza is a guy. Later on, Vegeta is angry about having to wear a pink shirt and others mock him for it, but more just because they know it will irritate him. In another episode, a character blows up a clothing store because they didn't have anything his size, and another character says it was a women's clothing store, to which he says, "Don't hate."
Words like retard and fag are frequently used early on. There's a scene where a character refers to a car engine as a "tranny" and another character responds with "I don't believe the car identifies as male or female."
Hell is real in-universe and several villain characters are shown there. There is also a spinoff "HFIL" series that features Cell, Frieza, the Ginyu Force and others having adventures in Hell.
There is a joke exchange between two characters about killing Cell before he is born that is obviously alluding to abortion, though it isn't meant to be taken seriously
Santa is depicted as evil in this universe via "Plan to Eradicate Christmas" (although not so in Christmas Tree of Might, but even then I’m not sure if this show is appropriate for children old enough to believe in Santa)
