Brock
You can catch fish and bugs and give them to the museum (where they continue living) or sell them to Tom Nook. There are visiting NPCs who will eat fish you give them, but not in a graphic way. The player can only eat fruit, which does not do anything.
If you do not play for a while, there will be roaches running around your house; if you step on them they blink out of existence and their ghost rises up from where they died. This is also not presented in a graphic manner.

Sometimes there's a spider found from shaking a tree, and it's required to complete the museum -- this however, is an optional path all of it's own

There are two "police officers", named Copper and Booker. They do not do any sort of law enforcement, they just run the Lost and Found. They never need to be interacted with.

You can eat food items (fruit, candy, turnips) and it has a sound for it- but it's entirely optional

No, however villagers sometimes comment on their own bodies or eating habits. These dialogue lines are brief and do not affect gameplay in any way

Villagers will look at the camera talk to the player directly when asking if you'd like to save the game. Villagers will also break the fourth wall by describing the controls to the player ("press the A button" or "open your inventory and equip the shovel") during conversation

At the beginning of the game Rover will ask you for your name and once you do so he will say "That's a great name for a boy!". You are then given the option to correct him and let him know you are a girl, or continue with the conversation. There is no non-binary or gender neutral option.

At the beginning of the game we learn that the player is moving to a new town where they do not have a house yet. The player then gets offered a house of their choice by Tom Nook, but they do not have enough money and need to work at Tom Nook's shop to pay off the loan. The player will always own the house after this point, even if they never pay off their mortgage, so there is no way to become homeless again after this point
