You REALLY should not be getting into this if this heavily affects you. The entire plot hinges on this. The stylistic choices in the anime do not make it better
- In the light novels, Ene sacrifices herself for Azami's cause
- Hibiya and Hiyori sacrificed themselves to save each other
- Ayano sacrifices herself in most routes by falling off a building to save her friends and family, though this is unsuccessful
No, but there are a few routes showing Ene in distress when someone she (thought she) knew before the Daze didn't recognize her or know who she was, which can be upsetting for some
Snakes are how the main characters get their powers, and the main villain has a form of a giant snake. There is also a character who has snake-like features.
Civilians and some main characters are held hostage during a terrorist attack in Episode 1. Two characters are kidnapped in Episode 5, but are saved shortly after.
In almost all routes, Kenjirou is possessed by the Snake of Clearing Eyes for the majority of the story, then possessing Konoha at it's climax, though he will sometimes possess other Mekakushi Dan members. Do not watch
A character vomits off screen in the novels and manga after riding a rollercoaster. Later in the novel finale, another character vomits after some characters are massacred.
A character is stuck in a hospital within the Kagerou Daze and it's a frequent setting regarding that character. Skip 0:00 to 1:16 and 18:41 to the end of episode 7. Hospitals are a frequent setting in Manga Route 2 as well
In Lost Time Memory, Konoha tries to shoot himself, though Shintaro intervened and he was shot instead. Shown throughout the bridge of the song
In the light novels, the Snake of Clearing Eyes threatens to shoot a possessed Kenjirou by putting a gun to him. Nothing is explicitly shown nor goes through
Suicide is a prominent theme in all routes. Without spoiling anything to a large extent:
- In Manga Route 2, Takane/Ene jumps off a building
- In the anime/Route XX, Shintaro stabs himself
- In Kagerou Days & Konoha no Sekai Jijou, Hibiya and Hiyori willingly jump into traffic
- In Toumei Answer, Ayano no Koufuku Riron & Additional Memory/anime/light novels/Manga Route 1, Ayano falls off a building. Multiple characters view it as suicide, but in actuality was a sacrifice that she realized was futile right as she died, though the imagery may be uncomfortable for some
Nothing too gorey, but some of the deaths sound rather horrific in the project. Examples include stabbing yourself in the neck with scissors, being shot in the abdoment then the mouth, getting impaled with a hand, etc..
